I'd rather have millions of people enjoying my music, than let's say 11,000.
True. I mean if you're not gonna sell in the 6 digits, and not end up in the "universal acclaim" title on that website, then you've pretty much failed.
I'd rather have millions of people enjoying my music, than let's say 11,000.
But some girls that don't have #1 songs are selling 300k the first week in albums and some girls that have #1 singles are selling 50k in their first week.
The fact that anyone honestly thinks either answer is right is disgusting. Think for yourself. If you love your faves music who gives a **** whether a panel of old white men likes it or 5,000,000 pre-teen girls bought it.
I'd rather constantly get #1's which would mean people like the artist and support their music, than get Grammy's every year and only be loved by critics and magazine writers

Some are selling less than 20k even after getting 3 top 5 hits.

well, DUH. The thread is asking people to choose ONE.
But forreal, I'm confused -- what does acclaim get you?
Like, when you die -- people gon be like 'Wow. She had a 82 on Metacritic. Such an amazing accomplishment?'.
When you get a #1 it's set in stone, the public knows, it's a huge seller and you get bucks from it. What do you get from New York Times giving your album 4 stars?
And as I say in EVERY thread like this.
People w/ Most #1's:
People w/ Most Grammys:
Which ones are bigger? Impacted music more? Will go down in history more?
There's people with over 20 Grammys and the public still has not a clue to their music.
