I love how they look like damn FOOLS now, though. Sony pretty much whipped them into shape. I'll still be buying the PS4. Maybe when the Xbox One has a $200 sale with a game or two I'll consider purchasing.

Oh thank you Holy Sony for saving the day once again
I might have to rethink which console I'm getting though. Now that all those restrictions have been lifted the Xbox Won is sure looking alot more appealing. It was the only thing holding me back from getting one. But aside from that I've always enjoyed the Xbox exclusives and Xbox versions of games more than the PS ones.

And as for the entertainment features, sure, the Xbox One has the TV functionality, but if you don't have cable, then it's all for naught. And you can access apps like Netflix without PS+, whereas those apps still remain behind the XBL paywall. And there's also the fact that Xbox One still comes with mandatory Kinect and is still $100 more expensive because of it. There's still NO guarantee that Kinect 2.0 works in a smaller room, which would leave me **** out of luck if it doesn't.
I mean, it's fantastic that they finally pulled their head out of their ass and LISTENED to the gaming community, and this is only a good thing, but there are still aspects in this war that have me leaning toward Sony. This only makes it more likely that I'll buy an Xbox One within a year, as opposed to years down the line.

The PS4 is also just flat out a more powerful machine. It has a better GPU and better CPU, and I'm fairly sure it has more memory as well.

They both have 8GB of RAM, but the PS4 uses GDDR5 which is used on graphics cards, whereas the Xbone uses DDR3 which is just normal PC RAM.

I guess we'll have to see "once it's all said and done". But for now MS presented more exclusives.

The fact that it's available is what makes it a better entertainment console.

The price is one thing I can't refute, but I guess at this point it's an integral part of the system, like a controller. We have to take it for what it is. It's also one of the things that sets the Xbox apart from the PS4.
Overall they're pretty close. It comes down to individual needs --- and I have cable, enjoy multitasking, and voice control is spiffy. Xbox takes the cake for me. PS4 does for you. I have no qualms about that. In the end, the consumers win.

Ugh. I wish they would've stuck with the idea.
Feel like they copped out.

I'm not even sure if they did that. If you factor in the many exclusive indie games shown at the Sony conference at E3, Sony actually has a lot of exclusives pretty early on. And that's before you get into the big guns that are coming out within the first year.

The fact that they're still hiding Netflix, Hulu Plus, and other apps of its ilk behind the Xbox Live paywall is still the main issue, though. More and more people are dropping cable every day for Hulu Plus and Netflix, and Microsoft is still content to keep those apps behind their paywall, while Sony has already stated that PS+ only uses their paywall on multiplayer disc-based games.

It's only integral because of the Kinect. If they didn't make the Kinect a mandatory part of the console, they could have sold the Xbox One at the same price as the PS4 and REALLY would have had many people thinking twice about their PS4 purchase. They still have time to do this, but I'm not sure if they will yet.

Yeah, the thing is that the Xbox One actually fits with you because it speaks specifically to wants that you have. For me, though, I just want to play games on the console that costs less to own between the two. That's all. Both consoles have the same amount of entertainment-based apps and movies and music and the like. Sony, though, has a proven track record with exclusives and also has a price point that is $100 less than the Xbox One. Like I said, there's a good chance I'll buy an Xbox One within a year of its release now, as opposed to much later down the line. But I'm still buying a PS4 over the One at launch. Nothing that happened today has done anything to change that.

Red, could you stop arguing with everyone and let have one their own opinion? You like/enjoy the PS4 better and some of us like the Xbox One better. Deal with it & move on.

Red still makes valid points though they still want to put Hulu and Netflix behind a paywall instead of making them free apps.

Why are you upset that someone is trying to have an intelligent conversation with another person?

Ah, right, that was it then.
Although GDDR5 has higher bandwidth, it has higher latency too.
Meaning that GDDR5 is faster when transferring high amounts of data, but DDR3 is faster at smaller amounts because of the low latency.
I'm just saying that GDDR5 is not better by definition
Anyway, overall the PS4 has better specs and is cheaper. If you only want it for games and nothing more, than that is already enough to make the PS4 a much better option.
I'm interested to see where Microsoft is taking this though. I'm hoping that they change the Kinect requirement and Indie game support too. if they do that I might consider getting the Xbox One.
I've always had an Xbox

Oop. Forgot about those indie titles. Still, it's the big names that draw people to either console. In that respect, MS has more exclusives. Plus, Minecraft is undoubtedly the smash hit of the indie game world, and no matter how many indie developers Sony has on it's side, it can't claim that title yet.

It's not really an "issue" though...
The paywall was neither here nor there on the Xbox 360 and it'll remain so. The bottomline is the Xbox is capable of those apps AND much more than what Sony has shown when it comes to entertainment.

Sorry, that's what I meant. The fact that the package is $100 more is because Kinect has become an integral part of the system. Whether the extra cost justifies the Kinect experience is yet to be determined. But yes, cut and dry, PS4 is cheaper. There's no denying that.

"Could you stop arguing with everyone and let one have their own opinion"? THIS IS ATRL, GOLDEN. If you don't argue for your opinion, you have no opinion!
And you seem to be under this assumption that I don't think that those whose opinion is different from my own can have a valid point, but Sunshine brought up valid points, too! Civil conversations between two people that have differing opinions can still happen on ATRL, you know, and *gasp* they can still find things to agree with from the people whose opinion differs from their own. Novel concept.
Besides, I keep telling you guys, I'm going to buy an Xbox One sooner rather than later now. I thought this would make you guys HAPPY.

The preorder numbers must have scared the crap out of them.
I do wonder how much $$$ it will cost them to edit the system this late in the game. I remember one of the xbox guys saying that the console was built on these policies.
