I hadn't actually thought of this before. But still, wouldn't it be safer to divert attention to a completely made up group, with completely made up goals, while the real group set their plans in action (...maybe that's what the Illuminati is

But I have to say, it all seems kind of far fetched. How do you know all these details? If an organisation had the power to kill 2 billion people just like that and make it look natural, aren't there a thousand different ways they could take control? How do we know it's called the illuminati? Sure, there really was an organisation called that in a small region of 18th century Germany (based off the free-masons) but why would the new group take such a name? No offence to people who feel strongly about this, but the whole theory feels baseless.
