No baby That's Why You're Beautiful is more towards the experimental side. An artist's music is generic if it sounds like Katy Perry would record it.
Rihanna:
Generic - Don't Stop the Music (probably wasn't generic for its time, but it is now) and WHYB
Experimental - Umbrella, Man Down, Cockiness and all of Rated R.
Jessie J:
Generic - LaserLight
Experimental - Who's Laughing Now
Lady Gaga:
Generic - Just Dance
Experimental - Bad Romance and EOG
Tabby G:
Generic - Just Going to Go
Experimental - Going to Stick Around

Gerl how is That's Why You're Beautiful generic? And I Care is experimental.

Diva is generic. Everyone was riding that Bangladesh sound during that time.
Experimental: Most of her The Family Jewels to be honest. Hermit the Frog and Mowgli's Road especially though. Also Teen Idle of Electra Heart. And Lies is really experimental for HER, but for someone else it could be considered generic... So it depends on if you mean experimental for the artist, or as far as mainstream music in general is concerned.
