What kind of logic is this when Taylor rides the hype of all of her previous eras to get the huge stats that she does 1st week too? Besides just Taylor, every artist relies on their previous success to build a foundation for their future releases.

Adele is breaking many records right now, which is why we're talking about her #s - just like we did when 1989 was released. But the reason she's able to get those type of #s, Taylor too, is because the public loves their music A LOT. You're wrong by saying it's not about her music when that has everything to do with it.

First of all, EVERY stanbase gets excited over sales. Every time any pop girl breaks any record, you'll see a flood of "YASS QUEEN OF EVERYTHING LEGEND" in the thread. But now that our fave is coming for an earth-shattering record, we're not allowed to get hyped over it?

Secondly, of course we care about how the album will sound, but we don't have much to go on, now do we? That said, Adele has never disappointed me before, so I doubt she'll start now, especially considering how much I love her preview single.

Thirdly, I can't at a Swiftie of all people having the audacity to call our fave overexposed. She's been gone for three years, and now that she's just coming back, you're already sick of her?

Do you know how long I had to put up with your fave plastered all over every headline? Do you know how many times I walked into the pizzeria to hear, "MY EX MAN BROUGHT HIS NEW GIRLFRIEND, SHE'S LIKE, OH MY GOD" blasting on the radio? Granted, she did release some songs during that era that I liked, but Christ.

You're being melodramatic. And your opinion is fine about her music, not everyone is going to like Adele.

Besides, do you realize how phenomenally rare it is to witness an occasion like this? Especially in THIS sales climate. It's beyond impressive that just about every stanbase is setting aside differences to celebrate Adele's accomplishments.
