As for Born This Way... It'll be really, really interesting to see how it does for the next couple of weeks. I can't at you guys thinking it won't reach 2 million when it's only the second week. It'll get there.

The drop isn't good, but it has more to do with frontloading from massive hype/fanbase/Amazon than bad word of mouth.
She needs TEOG to grow and branch out to the general public now.

I said BTW won't hit 4M and maybe not even 3M after it dropped out of the Top 20 before Glee. It rebounded thanks to Glee and a handful of performances recently.
If TEOG was meant to truly explode, it would have done it by now. It's doing well, but last week was its real chance at exploding.

It would have eventually passed 3m even with its lower trajectory at the time.
And I guess we'll see with TEOG. There's plenty of room to grow. I am fairly confident the album will be selling 2m, though.
It shouldn't be hard for a 1.1 million opener to scan 2 million copies unless it drops completely off this earth. Now how long it will take will depend on the hits from the album and the promo supporting it. Taylor's and Lil Wayne's albums suffered 69-70% drops and have gone on to sell around 3.5 million.
For someone so in tune with her gay audience, you'd think Lady Gaga would be aware that they want fun, flashy colors and hot clubby dance songs. We saw what happened when Rihanna went dark and tried to be a "rock star." Not even radio, her forte, paid attention to her. Rihanna learned her lesson and came back with colors (she made sure even her hair wasn't dark ) blazing and club tracks thumping. Hopefully Gaga learns too.
There is NO way the album is selling less than 2 million. That is practically guaranteed. I think it'll top out at about 2-2.5 million, unless there's a re-release or she tacks an EP onto it like TFM.
After EOG is done, there's no other hits left on that album.
