Boy bands are having a moment. What, you haven’t heard?
Not only are One Direction and Big Time Rush teaming up for a sold-out North American tour, but now British fivesome the Wanted are taking the States by storm as well.
During the vocal group’s three-week U.S. press tour, their single “Glad You Came,” a summery dance jam straight from the shores of Ibiza, has rocketed from No. 85 all the way to No. 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100, and yesterday, the Wanted announced on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show that Glee would be covering the song later this season.
Now, the last time Glee introduced a new artist to America — the show featured fun.’s “We Are Young” in December — the single hopped atop the iTunes download chart (and got key placement in a Chevy Super Bowl ad), so it’s safe to say that Ryan Murphy’s vote of confidence has some swaying power in the pop scene.
This song is really catchy, the beginning and end have that Coldplay-esque thing going on and the instrumental hook reminds of On the Floor. They really should succeed to a greater extent than the other group that released that song that sounds like a leftover from BSB's Millennium. Helps that they have members that actually look of age as well.
