19. Charli XCX - Sucker

"I wanna learn to speak Japanese" Gold Coins Boom Clap Body of my Own Need Ur Luv

Sucker has a great **** you attitude, from the title track's bitter kiss-off to a guy who only wants to "bang" to Body of My Own when she informs her ex that "her touch is better" than anything he ever did in the bedroom. It isn't an especially deep or emotional album; but what tracks like Break the Rules and London Queen lack lyrically are made up by the fact that they are pretty damn catchy. While sis isn't the best vocalist, or lyricist, or dancer, she just has a God given talent for hooks. I mean Boom Clap and Caught in the Middle are almost too catchy, go easy on the girls, Charli. Sucker has just enough catchy hooks to please those who found her via Fancy or Boom clap, but just enough originality to impress (most) fans of True Romance. Maybe it doesn't quite have the highs of her debut, there's no You (Ha Ha Ha) here. It still manages to be one of the best albums of the year however and certainly makes me excited to see what she does next. I'm ready for that K-pop album Charli.

Banks - Alibi

"Please give me something to convince me that I'm not a monster"

If this was last year, Banksy would have one, maybe two songs in my top 10, but it ain't 2013 anymore and she only just made top 20.

I love this song because it;s almost in two halves: the first half employs the electronic music she does so well, whie later the song becomes a simple singer-songwriter piano ballad that allows her to show off her passionate vocals, and manages to keep it INTERESTING unlike later album snoozefests like Someone New and You Should Know...

Taylor Swift - New Romantics

I like it when songs are deep and meaningful. I like it when songs hare amazing lyrics. I like it when songs have a unique structure. But most of all I like it when a song makes me happy, and this song never fails to leave a smile on my face.

I don't normally mind if my fave songs on the album are bonus tracks, but this just SCREAMS smash. I don't know what sh was thinking.

Agreed. She's not that superstar type, but she can easily be with her catchy-as-hell songs. Doing It, Caught in the Middle and Hanging Around are my favorite songs tho.

Charli is a FANTASTIC pop songstress and Sucker really proves that. Just because it's a little more commercial than True Romance doesn't make it worse and people need to get over that already.

I like Alibi too. I used to think her voice in the chorus was kinda whiny and annoying but then it kinda clicked with me.

Hmm, I definitely think True Romance is better, but I mean, I still really enjoy Sucker which is all that matters. A lot of people act like like Sucker is a huge decline from True Romance, which it isn't at all,
