Kelly still gets pop, Hot AC and AC hits. She's not the album seller she once was, but her last album almost went platinum. That sounds at least B-minus list to me. But personally, I would bump Katy up to B-plus and Kelly up to B.

But she still gets invited to talk shows and "American Idol." People like her and want to root for her. Most importantly, they recognize her name. She is a brand, even if her star has fallen.

The "actual documentation" from the labels is always shipments, not sales.

Yes, they're great and consistent numbers, but again most of them came from the US. In the US she was certainly A+++ at her prime but if you look at the breakdown of the sales... :-/
