Discussion: Ariana Managed to Recover But Gaga Didn't, why?

Has Ariana even experienced backlash? Nobody cared about the donutgate after 2 days.
When Gaga was Ariana's age she released the Alejandro MV and hit the VMA stage wearing the meat dress. What does Ariana do? Releasing collabs with nicki minaj about penises? Stay in your lane and compare Ariana to Selena Gomez or whatever.

So what you are saying basically is the only thing ariana has over Gaga this era is 2 single and streams? The album sales that you mentioned are being outsold by Gaga in much less time like i said and Gaga will surpass them soon. You never really adressed any of my points.
Perhaps a more apt name for this thread would be why is ariana getting higher streams than Gaga, as that is the only significant thing you have. I'll save you the hassle, the answer would be she is making commercial pop songs and collaborating with other commercial artists, so ofcourse the streams would be higher than Joanne.

1. If Gaga went up against Drake (like Ariana did) she would have lost as well
2. Gaga opened with 200k in Q4 which is the most marketable time to release music
3. It's still got a long ways to go before it outsells DW, we'll see if it ever actually does it
4. Gaga purchased the Super Bowl gig

Justin Bieber is a male artist, might want me to remind you that male artists dominated 2016 and only few female managed to get hits.
Ariana is clearly doing great in any aspect of her career and is going for a huge tour this year.

Gurl, haven't you gotten the memo that streaming is now the standard? Also, Ariana debuted in streaming era and she's doing great on streaming.
Gaga debuted in digital sales era but she's doing average on that nowadays.
See the difference?

So let me get this straight. 21 sold 30 million, Anti sold 1.4 million, and Dangerous Woman sold 1 million (and was released four months after Anti) yet you're grouping Anti with 21 and not Dangerous Woman?

What large margin are you taking about?
First, none of Joanne single has outsold any DW single. Joanne is yet to outsold DW's WW sales.
However, Ariana is outstreaming Gaga with a VERY HUGE MARGIN.
I love both artists and I'm not being biased here, just telling you the truth.

Joanne WW sales for the first 9 weeks were 765,000, wheras DW were 618,000. That is quite the large margin

Nope. Ariana crushes Gaga in YouTube, Spotify, single sales, and radio. Gaga outdoes Ariana in album sales but not to the extent Ariana outdoes Gaga in the previous categories. For example, Dangerous Woman has 6.5 times as many Spotify streams as Joanne, so who cares if Joanne sells a couple 100k more?

So Ariana is outdoing Gaga in free streams and Gaga is outdoing Ariana in paid albums. Hmm Ok, nice discussing with you. A more appropriate name for the thread would have been regarding streams but ok
