I don't think adding Toni Braxton to that rate is going to work, ftlom. Not at all, actually.
BoT- good idea, but those songs will have been done to death? Let's save that for later - much later.
But, sparked by the idea of the USA/UK Girl Group Rates and the upcoming Five by Fifty Seven rate, I have some more combo singles rate ideas:
- Aaliyah/Brandy/Monica: All their singles. They were the trilogy of teenage R&B, and it would be beautiful to see them grow into womanhood. I also don't think a solo singles rate for any of them (save for possibly Aaliyah) would do as well as a combo rate would do. I'd love to host, but I'll let it fall by the wayside if someone else wants at it.
- Tori/P.J./Bjork - again, thrown together as alt-queens in the early 90s, a combo singles rate for them would be fascinating to see how they weathered the storms of the past twenty years. Owl, this rate is screaming your name.
ok I added a new woman. She doesn't get a lot of love/attention on here, and in 2000 she was at the top of her game and coming off a gigantic era in the 90's.
She was 32
Madonna was 41
Janet was 34
Kylie was 32
How does this look Ace? Yes or hell no lol
Toni has a chance with
-Spanish Guitar
-H.W.M.E
-Just be a man about it
-the heat
other album tracks lol
I would love it if you added Toni, but she'll be shunned amongst those legends on this site. Maybe someone like Sade or Enya when they released their albums in early 00s...

I mean, I could do this instead of that other album rate I suggested. I don't know if you need them both.
Idkkk why but I feel like Toni would surprise and at least have 1 song in the top 5. Even though she's not discussed a lot I feel like in this rate she would surprise. I have a feeling lol

Toni really doesn't fit.
But I am looking forward to the Toni/Whitney/Mariah 2009 battle!

Ace please let Toni stay lol. If she flops in the rate o well, but at least she will have a chance. They may not be similar in musical genre, but the women are similar because they both were living the high life as a grown midde-aged woman controlling the music world in their own genres.
I see u named it "Living Life Like It's Golden" and that is what all women, including Toni did lol. She may not be a big musical force now but if we're going by 2000-2001. She was on top with pop hit "He Wasn't Man Enough" and R&B staples "Just Be A Man about it" and "Spanish Guitar." lol She may be the odd 1 out but if u put in a different perspective she fits in with the "middle-aged musical women" theme.
