Just because it didn't cut unemployment to below 8% during the first year doesn't mean it's a complete failure. Unemployment is reaching it's lowest point in a while right now. Millions of jobs were created by that stimulus package. If unemployment had RISEN, yes, you're right, it would've been a complete failure. But underperforming and failing are not the same thing.

vacation half the days of Obama in three years, as far as I can remember. Every president does too much IMO.

What I didn't like was that Obama
was on vacation twice during the oil spill crisis and the Memorial Day ceremony.

Why only call out Obama on it when it's something that EVERY president does, and it's also something that every single Republican candidate is going to do in office?

Republicans care for every class. They want to encourage the people on Welfare to start working, which means they care for those people. When that unemployment rate decreases, the taxing amount decreases (what Republicans want to happen), which is positive for anybody that is struggling to keep their house and support their family (mainly the poor, and some of the middle class). The lowered taxes is also good for both middle class and the richer to support their family even more than now.

Cutting welfare is not their way of encouraging people to start working. I honestly do not believe that is their reasoning. They just want to cut spending. I do think cuts can be made to welfare, but it definitely should be gotten rid of completely. Although some abuse the system and sit on their ass at home, some people truly try but struggle to find work. Not everyone stays on welfare forever. You cannot convince me they care for every class. If they cared, they'd agree to raise taxes on the rich. The rich can certainly afford a tax increase. Most politicians are crooks anyway, you usually have to choose the lesser of two evils.

Thank you for the intelligent conversation. It can be so hard to talk to someone with different views in a civilized way. Especially on a site like this which is full of messy people.
