A quote from and article:
“Adele’s 21 holds at #40 for the second week in its 119th week on the chart. Billboard’s Keith Caulfield notes that it’s in fourth place for the longest run in the top 40 in the Nielsen SoundScan era. It trails Shania Twain’s Come On Over (151 weeks), Taylor Swift’s Taylor Swift (126 weeks) and Nickelback’s All The Right Reasons (122 weeks). The top 40 leaders since 1955 are the My Fair Lady original cast album (311 weeks in the top 40), the Oklahoma! soundtrack (262 weeks), Johnny Mathis’ Johnny’s Greatest Hits (236 weeks) and The King And I soundtrack (230 weeks). Both of these soundtracks are from film versions of Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals.”

First week out of the top 40 on Mediatraffic which started publish its charts in 2004. With 122 weeks, it had the second-longest run after The Fame (Monster) with 137 weeks (courtesy of phoenix83 from ukmix). However The Fame (Monster) by Lady Gaga got its 137 weeks with re-release and promotional program that included 9 singles. 21 without re-release, and we know the history of the 21 promotion...

Even Georgina couldn't bother to check the original article from Billboard. Come On Over was in Top 40 for 127 weeks, it stayed in Top 200 for 151 weeks.

"Adele’s 21 drops out of the top 40 on The Billboard 200 for the first time in its remarkable run. The album drops from #40 to #42 in its 120th week. Only one other album in the Nielsen SoundScan era has spent its first 119 weeks inside the top 40: Shania Twain’s Come On Over, which spent its first 127 weeks in the top 40, from November 1997 to April 2000. Two other albums in the Nielsen SoundScan era logged more cumulative weeks in the top 40 than 21 has so far, but they didn’t spend their first 119 weeks in the top 40. Taylor Swift’s Taylor Swift spent 126 cumulative weeks in the top 40 (but only its first two before falling out of the top 40 and having to start over). Nickelback’s All The Right Reasons spent 122 cumulative weeks in the top 40 (and its first 111)."

Another update except Skyfall should be selling slightly more than RITD right now but there seems to be no data on it.
Now I will try to estimate that how much Adele's records have sold worldwide.
ALBUMS 21 has sold 27.5 million copies. 19 has sold 7 million copies.
SINGLES Rolling in the Deep has sold 13 million copies. Someone Like You has sold 10 million copies. Set Fire to the Rain has sold 8 million copies. Skyfall has sold 4 million copies. Rumour Has It has sold 3 million copies. Chasing Pavements has sold 2 million copies. Make You Feel My Love has sold 1.5 million copies. Hometown Glory has sold 1 million copies.
MOVIES Live at the Royal Albert Hall has sold 3 million copies.
= 80 million records sold worldwide (at the age of 25).

Update
Also I think its safe to say that MYFML has sold 2 million worldwide. Didn't it sell 1 million in the US? It has also sold 870,000 (according to UK) so I'll just round up to 2 million or at least 1.9 million

WW
#35 (-) ADELE 21, 21,000
After 5 weeks of absence we have Adele back in WW top 40 with sales of 21,000. These are low end sales for WW top 40 and this year it would qualified an album for inclusion only during 5 weeks out of 29. This week 9 albums that fell out of top 40 came back, 4 of them above 21, 4 of them below 21 (with sales 20,000). One reason is few new big selling albums released this week. Still, it's showing albums longevity as compared to other albums.
