Okay. I absolutely adore the main theme, but the music itself is not as exciting as it was on her last two albums. I mean I enjoyed it and I think it's a solid record, but I can already tell I won't be revisiting this as often as her previous releases. But on the other hand I really appreciate that she didn't feel the need to create another Fur & Gold/Two Suns/THM.

It's definitely a dark slow burner of an album, but I anticipated that after we heard sunday love. Ultimately I think this is her second best record she's ever made. Two Suns's weave is still intact and I can't image her topping it at this point. But for me The Bride is the most bat for lashes album we've had in a while. It feels like a fresh start. I'm so glad she didn't stay on the path of the haunted man because that's kind of a slippery slope lol.

My ranking of her albums (it could be too early for this but)

TS > TB > F&G > THM

I think the best thing about The Bride album for me is the melodies. They're so beautiful and unique (Lands end especially). I'm just falling in love with this album!

It works as an album but I don't like it as much as THM.

I'm giving it a full listen right now and Honeymoonig Alone is real standout for me.
Widows Peak is more an intro is it not? I really like it. Love the recitativ. I hope it's the right word.

So I listened to the whole thing and I like the first five tracks and Widows Peak the most. I think I have to give the album more listens but aside of that I think that The Bride is a very good album. I like the concept and the cover is iconic.

Great album, I am sure it's going to be a huge grower though, 'cause on first listen it sounds a bit samey (even if I know it's just due to its cohesiveness).
