News: Muslim groups block LGBT groups from UN meet

Fundamentalist Islam is growing by day. The most secular country to practice Islam was Turkey, and look what they've turned into in a couple of decades. Right now the parliament passed and issue stating it'd be okay for child rape victims to marry their abuser. Right on course with sharia and its teachings. Sharia and its cruel practices are found on a wider scale every day, even in ghetto Europe. Islam can't see reform any time for the next hundred years. West needs to toughen up.

Religions are all disgusting, not exclusive to just Islam (though it's the least tolerant religion I agree). Sorry not sorry. Gay movement and acceptance are inevitable, and we actually have science explanation to back it up. Poor those people wasting their lives living in denial then.

It'll just get worse day by day in the middle east, it's like they're going back to the 7th century instead of advancing.  and these ultra liberals want millions of these intolerant, ignorant and backwards people to influx european countries, it's crazy they want to destroy their liberal, secular western world

Not all Muslims are hateful homophobic bigots but I guarantee you, 94% them are, at least fall on one of those three categories. I live in the largest Muslim nation in the world, I experience it firsthand.

Christianity has done more harm to the HIV fight than anything in the world, but anyways...
If you think that some Islamic states' human rights violations and conservatism gives you the right to deny humanitarian help to people in need and to round up and convict millions of people based on their religion, you're no different than the backwards bigots who did this thing.

Two totally different things though. There are states out there where gay people are beheaded. Immigration is another problem that needs to be faced. Here in Europe we already have loads of immigrants. I don't know what do you think, but we are already helping thousands and thousands of people  We save lifes daily here, because they try to come over through very dangerous barges. Our navy is literally involved only in saving lifes on a daily basis. Obviously we cannot accept every single person. But we have so many people involved in helping. Italy has been severely attacked by EU because they say we let too many people in. In Austria they want to raise a proper wall between Italy and them, in order to stop immigrants from transpassing... the situation is complicated. But this is not the topic at all.....

The Quran from what I remember (the last time I read it was a long time ago) never said explicitly that being gay is a sin. It just told the story of the people of Sodom and how God made them suffer because they were all addicted to sex and practiced gay sex. There was one hadith that says if you witness two persons committed gay sex, you should kill those two people in that same place at first sight, I'm not making this hadith up. You can look it up.

Though I don't identify as a Muslim anymore, we do not hate dogs  The religion teaches people to treat them not any different to any other animals. We just see them as dirty, especially their saliva which is seen as haram/unclean/filth. There's plenty of people in my country who are a moderate Muslim and have dogs. I used to have a dog too, though I never let it lick me.

My point is that far-right nationalists in Europe use these clickbait-y headlines to send unbiased panic to the people like "See? If you let muslims here gay people will die!!!! Send them back, don't let them in!!!", not to mention increase the extreme islamophobia out there.

There are always extremities in religious belief. That's down to personal viewpoints about scripture/upbringing etc. Christianity's reformation era was long and bloody, but those reforms have enabled it to cast off some of the shackles of fundamentalism that Islam can never shake off. The "Reformation" in Christianity isn't actually a reform of the religion in the sense that Catholic doctrines were virtually unchanged prior and after the Reformation. The only thing that the Reformation brought is that it weakened the Catholic Church's political power and gave rise to secularism, and resulted to division of churches over the interpretation of Scripture. Christian fundamentalism actually became rampant AFTER the Reformation.

Well, this is not a far-right headline.... this is what actually happened
Why do you feel the need to condone it using Islamophobia as a pretext? This is just wrong and we should fight against it...
This is fueling Islamophobia in itself and for obvious reasons. Far-right movements don't even need to try hard when you have Islamic states acting like that. People in Europe are not going to accept it no matter how you can turn it..

I was raised a Muslim, and it is part of my culture I guess but I don't practice the religion anymore. (I'm Agnostic Atheist). Just wanted to give you the insight on the issue from a former Muslim.
