So the hardest part when creating this best of was coming up with ONLY 20 songs for the countdown. There were so many amazing pop/r&b songs that came out this year that this was truly a struggle for me to decide but here it is after weeks of deliberation. And as a disclaimer: with me being a major pop fan, most of the songs in this countdown will be pop. So sit down, grab a bucket of popcorn and get ready to be entertained!

Gwen finally returned to prime form with the release of "Used To Love You". After the atrocity that was "Spark The Fire", and the underwhelming release of "Baby Don't Lie" last year it seemed like Gwen was spiraling off. This song however is the reason why I love her. It showcases her vocals and you can feel the emotions in her voice as she sings.

What a great debut single. It's really relatable especially to someone like me who is super stand-offish and awkward as Alessia would say. The song is so good it does a really good job at being relatable to most teens like most of atrl actually. I also love the jazz-esque vibe it gives off. A really cool and refreshing song.

"December" was never released as a single and probably never will be seeing as though it is from Ariana's Christmas EP. This song just barely made this countdown, I literally had to switch everything up for this one song it's just so good. Ariana's sassy side really needs to be brought out like it is in this song. The funky beat is so catchy and the lyrics are hot af.
