Yeah, she's definitely dabbed into so many genres and done them well too. Her discography is well rounded and not in any way bad.
What these other girls don't realise is that Mariah set the standards for their faves (alongside Madonna, Janet etc). All the current pop girls are shadowing them.

And LOL at people saying she's doing r&b songs for 25 years. A shame if they don't know the rest of her discography. Her ballads alone span various genres - piano standards (Vanishing, Lead the way), pop (Hero), retro (Forever), traditional r&b (Underneath the stars, Circles, Vision of love), contemporary r&b (We belong together), covers (I'll be there), hiphop (Breakdown).

Mariah does have a fairly diverse discography, especially the first 13 years of her career, but this is a terrible example. You're basically saying she does urban related genres and ballads - essentially making their case seem true ![deadbanana2](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/bananas/deadbanana_zps933fcf47.gif) You know if you want to display her diversity, you need to go beyond that

all I'm saying is that the type of ballads along that she has done span genres. Of course she has her up tempos, mid tempos, jazz, etc...but I'm too lazy to list her discography

Katy, Beyonce, and Mariah.
EDIT: mess @ people saying Kesha. Have you listened to her albums?
Also, Christina, Selena, and definitely Lana. Is Lana's discography just one really long, boring song?

Besides Spiritual and It Takes Two, the 2nd half is bland as hell imo she wanted the hits but wanted the personal tracks and it didnt mesh well.
And have you listened to RED?, the album shift shapes into different genres while you're saying all her songs sound the same.

To tell you the truth, I have not listened to Red...but the singles of that album I cannot really distinguish from one another. Maybe it's just me because I'm not familiar with her body of work. With a gazillion albums sold, I'm sure Red is a beautiful album.

The singles dont do it justice because they were all produced by the same guy.

Stefani Germanotta has the worst. But in time if she improves she can turn it around.
She had a lot of potential coming off The Fame/Monster era but it's been damaged by her last two albums which have done nothing to enhance and everything to diminish the discography she was building.

Shakira and Katy Perry.
They have some great songs, but most of them are… MEH.

Lady Gaga. Her music gets old, so fast. I can listen to another pop girl song from ten years ago and get life, but her music from 2008 already has me extremely bored
Edit: Well actually, Gags has her gems. Maybe Ke$ha?

Of the girls whose catalogues I'm most familiar with, I'd have to say Beyoncé and Gaga. I really like some of their material, but I also hate a lot of it.

Demi Lovato
Selena Gomez
Katy Perry
Rihanna
Justin Bieber
That said I use a few songs from Katy and Rihanna, but they haven't made any albums I've found impressive

Rihanna. To me her albums are composed of very good singles and the rest are fillers.

I feel like Britney's highs outweigh her lows. The fillers are horrible but the gems are amazing. That can't be said for everyone, especially considering that a lot of pop girl music ages terribly. There are incredible songs on BOMT, OIDIA, Britney, ITZ, and Blackout. Her post-breakdown discog is kind of a mess though ![too funny](images/smilies/images/smilies/priceless.gif)

I agree with all of this.

Rihanna. I love her singles and most of LOUD + RR are great but the rest of her albums don't have much replay value for me.
