Omg everyone dissing the south needs to shut up for a sec.
I live in freakin' Canada and the first snowfall of the year - even if it's just 1-2cm - is a
disaster if you live in a big city. Everyone forgets how to drive, commutes take triple the time, there's a decent chance that we'll get a snow day if the fall begins to happen around 6am right before commute starts to get bad. And we will still have salt trucks combing the streets before the event even happens. After the first two snowfalls, everyone remembers how to winter and no one is expected to stop their life for anything under 30 cm in one shot/0 visibility/lower than -40 windchills. But let's not act like we're not absolute ******* for the first snow event of the season!
Now some of these people haven't had a snow event in years - maybe their whole lives.
All people truly familiar with snow know that THIN layers of snow are FAR WORSE than 5+ cm of snow - your tires can't really grip such a small amount of snow, there's no traction. Imagine experiencing THAT for the first time, going 20km an hour and suddenly, your car can't grip the ground.
I feel bad for you guys. Good luck, time to just get cozy at home with some hot chocolate and TV. Hopefully it won't be much because I assume a lot of you don't have snow plows, shovelling snow is a bitch.
Maybe it'll be packing snow though and you'll be able to have some fun after
.
