Critics have opinions just like everybody else does..... I don't really pay these lists too much attention but its nice to see your favorite artists recognized by others.

Looks like they only paid lip service to pop just to stop getting to much shite being thrown at them.

Robyn, Kylie and Britney shouldn't be on it at all because they look so out of place.

Amy Winehouse Rehab should be there, "Tears dry on their own" is nowhere near as good, but then, thats too obvious for a critic to pick.

Gwen Stefanis "What you waiting for" is 1000x better than the Robyns "heartbeat", it is both a great pop song and has a good theme to it.

Some of the tracks on the list are just plain shite.

This whole post doesn't make sense.

1) Robyn is the most beloved pop star in the critical world, especially the hipsters that make Pitchfork up. In fact, I fully expect her album top be in the top 50 (if not the top 20) of their albums list.

2) No one - NO ONE - could argue with the greatness of CGYOOMH, LAFS, Toxic, or either Robyn single. (Or Biology, Overload, Some Girls, Heartbeat or Groovejet for that matter.)

3) Tears Dry on Their Own is less obvious, but for good reason - a lot of people are still burned out from Rehab, and actually view it as everything they hate about Amy (namely the tabloid stuff). TDOTO, equally as good as Rehab, is free from all that baggage.

4) I love Gwen - who doesn't? - but no, no no. (no pun intended) The best Gwen solo song on it's best day couldn't compare with With Every Heartbeat, and that's not even Robyn's best single.

Now, if you meant ANNIE's Heartbeat, then you'd have more of a case ... but then again, not so much. WYWF is good, Heartbeat is REALLY GOOD.

Clearly "Crazy In Love". Its unexplainable but it's just her 'song'. "Single Ladies", believe it or not, was just a fad. No one even cares for it anymore besides her stans online (as you may have noticed). Hype over it ended LONG ago.

Christina hasn't really released anything this decade to make such critical lists. Her 1999 stuff would never make it, as just like Britney, Jessica, etc. that was all generic/bubblegum stuff. All her singles from Stripped were all very cliche, nothing original or outstanding. "Beautiful", though a good song, still isn't anything extraordinary (in a critics mind at least). And Back To Basics just didn't have anything standout-ish. That's why I think she didn't make this list.

The real question is why didn't P!nk make it?

The ones who compiled this list must be an awful mix of people varying from tweens to the elderly since it lacks the most basic consistency (ie. it doesn't make whole sense no matter you're a fan of Miley Cyrus or Ray Charles). Or, if one single person made this, he/she must be trying desperately to sprinkle the list with recognisable mainstream acts over a bagful of elusive indie artists.
