Like someone in this thread said previously, HIAM was extremely front-loaded. The "dubstep" on the track had zilch to do with its success. How she never scored a number 1 after can vouch for that.

Would Dr. Luke have incorporated more "watered-down dubstep breakdowns" into his productions if "HIAM" had been poorly received? Maybe, but the fact of the matter is that Britney did popstep first.

If Britney released a single tomorrow that sounded unlike anything on the radio right now, it would only be a matter of time until you heard other artists following suit.

Anyways, I'm completely done with this. There was never use arguing with brit fans because they already believe their fave writes and records her own material. But lets establish that Rihanna had actual dubstep on Rated R, Dr. Luke is the only person who can take credit for pushing dubstep mainstream, Skrillex is known and has been known by mainstream artists and critics (gaga used skrillex back in 2010) + he has more grams than brit, dubstep would have caught on with or without britney and thats a fact.

Is that your really your receipt that you want to use? Hold It Against Me was listened to by 90 million people weekly just from radio impact alone in one country, that in itself has more impact then SMaNS views that have accumulated for over 2 years now. Hold It Against Me was bigger then Skillrex entire discography combined and magnified.
