This is like arguing that if The United States of Europe formed from the current Eurozone people from Britain, Switzerland, Sweden etc. would no longer be European. Nah, the term would just more commonly refer to USE citizens than British ones. It's no big deal.
Same with Scottish independence; unless we're planning on making Scotland it's own island we'll always be British as Great Britain is the name of the Island we're on.
