Because Billboard changed the rules. It should have honestly gone number #1 in the first week but due to the new points system Blurred Lines garnered another 2 weeks.

California Gurl's and I Kissed A Girl both had more weeks at #1 but still in relation to weeks/sales, Roar has sold more than both becoming 3x platinum in it's 9th week.

I wouldn't be surprised if that is a rerelease title but i suspect they won't need to.
All they need is 6 solid smashes and then can release remixes and discounts to do the rest. its illegal to not play Katy on radio so she's covered.

Aug 13-Oct 13 roar
Oct 13-Jan 14' unconditionally
February 14-may 14 third single
June-Aug 14 summer smash
Sept-December 14 fifth single
And close with a December sixth single to give it one more sales boost.
I haven't heard the snippets or leak so I dont know if they have 6 smashes but knowing Katy and her team I'm sure they do.

Td story was flawfree...fun in the sun cali girl...then having a teenage dream then fireworks et and love lost with part of me and accepting the fairytale as unrealistic with wide awake.
