I guess I worded myself wrong, I actually loved Sorry. I wasn't referring to it as boring which I guess my reply sounded like. This however sounds like it'll be a snoozer.
They must be waiting for a top 10 radio song before actually releasing the album. Unfortunately it probably won't happen with this song either. They should just release the album.

Really, and if you only heard a snippet of "Suit & Tie" and it was the first minute, you would assume IT was ALSO an R&B slow-jam, too, huh?! Or "I Got a Boy" and assume it was solely a wannabe rap song!? If you ain't gonna stan for her, why comment?

Maybe it isn't a pop single because she's not a sellout!
Maybe it isn't a pop single because she's better as an R&B singer!
Maybe it isn't a pop single because, as far as you all know, the pop singles are generic as hell and won't even make the cut!
Just sayin'...

Preach. She's urban and that's not gonna change.

I mean, I know it's cute to make sure you note what # release an artist is on, but honestly no one cares.

Read what I said and comprehend it. I did say "mid-tempo at most"! Doesn't matter! Ciara is not a power selling artist, and she needs a song that can crossover to pop or do well in international markets like "Love Sex Magic" did. This cut more than likely will not do it.
I comment because I can. Last time I checked I'm entitled to my opinion and I will not be biased just because I'm a Ciara fan. I keep it real!

You haven't heard the song. Which makes everything you're saying pointless.

and that seems to be the problem. :| I mean, at some point people are going to get confused and either lose interest. I'm just hoping she actually releases the album instead of dropping all these singles.

Yeah, release an album with no singles. That'll sell it!

Seriously, you act like you've heard the song in full. And I know how much of an advocate you are for "Overdose", yet you haven't heard that song in full, either! So, don't go around assuming you've heard the entire album already!

If Ciara is going to continue with the urban tracks, I hope she drops something hot like Kelly's "Kisses Down Low" or Rihanna's "Lov7 Song." I love the "Body Party" single cover, and I'll wait to hear the full track before I make any grand judgements, but yeah. Something needs to happen... and quick. She's been releasing songs since June of 2011 from the album, and still.. no album.

This snippet ***** on both songs so why would she stoop to that level?

It doesn't matter, I'm not saying I don't love it or anything like that, cause I do, but my point is that these type of songs don't sell or do well anymore. Unless this song breaks out into some techno dance ****, which I highly doubt, this looks to be like a mid tempo R&B jam. If Ciara were a power selling artist then I wouldn't mind her releasing something like this, because it could turn out to be a slow burner, but at this point Ciara is just not in the place where she used to be. She needs to SELL out, to SELL!
The snippet of Overdose is like almost 2 minutes long, basically the whole song, so chances are I'm gonna love the full version.
I'm not acting like I've heard the whole album, chances are there even better songs than Overdose, but that's the problem, Ciara or her team always seem to choose the wrong singles.

Hopefully it even enters Hot 100.

You can't claim yourself a Ciara fan if you want her to sellout! A real Ciara fan wouldn't care if she never makes it back to the Top 10 again. A real Ciara fan would like the music regardless of whether it sounds like everybody else's or not!
And BTW, exactly how many songs on the top 40 are techno dance numbers as opposed to songs that fit the artist much better?! Obviously, selling out doesn't apply to Justin T., Bruno Mars, P!nk, and Alicia Keys around this time, so why should it apply to Ciara?!
