This is what we got: - Lead single chosen
- Tracklist now complete
- Album shoot next week
- Planning full scale US promo tour (performing at the Lincoln Center, NY March 21st)
- Unreleased album material might make the album i.e. (Rico Love, Stargate, Sandy Vee, RedOne)
- Good balance of everything (Ballads as well as uptempo as well as midtempo)
- Early Whitney inspired her for this album
- Final touches on the album
- Album should be like Overcome in terms of balance
- Worked with Dre & Vidal and https://twitter.com/DRZEUS111
- No album title yet

OMG These all sound excellent except for the early Whitney part (in a way). That tells me she's going to have more songs similar to the EP she released in August Alex needs to serve a good balance of ballads and bops
And if she is relatively close to me when she does the promo tour (like 250 miles away) I will go see her (I live in the US)

It's coming soon. Everyone should follow @ABUpdates, they are really good for Alex news and events etc.
She's doing a buzz event at the Lincoln Center next month, she's performing Hallelujah there but the first single is just weeks away now.
She also met Sevyn Streeter recently, and she hinted at possible studio time/collaboration which I would be here for.

We were worried about too many ballads etc, we asked her and she said that it was a balanced album. There will be a mix of all sounds/tempos. So there will be uptempos on it as well. She said it was balanced like Overcome.
You live in the US?! Yass we're coming to you to keep up with all the radio/promo stuff. It will be starting soon, so hopefully we will get a lot more US members in TeamAB

She bought an apartment in NY a while back, but she has mainly been recording the album in NY, Miami, LA, Atlanta and Philadelphia and some in London as well.
I'm sure she will come to LA, I need her to appear on KIIS FM at some point.

Followed. Will the Lincoln performance be televised/filmed?
Sevyn's written some great stuff, would love to see what she could do for Alex.

She is YEAS I will be more willing to see her. No Shade, I want to meet her in case she becomes totally irrelevant to know that I met and saw her live.
One time I missed out on a chance to see Rebecca Ferguson live in the US at a Free Concert that was 100 miles away I regret not staying up to date as she becoming less relevant in the UK alone
This time I will figure it out to see her if she comes to LA

Thanks I don't think so, it's a charity event. Besides, I'd rather she saved her US television debut for the first single promo.
Alex has worked with varying writers/producers for this record, a mix of big names and up and coming ones as well. I love All The Way Home by Tamar Braxton which Sevyn wrote, so I'd love her to do a track like that for the album.
I'm so excited for her though. For those that don't know, her manager Jojo Brim is also the Senior Vice President at Epic Records, he just got hired there so that is a big plus for Alex, especially if she is signed to the label. It helps to have someone high up in the label in your corner. Alex said that she can't say anything about the label until next month, so I guess that's when some announcements will be made.

I'm just trying to figure out how she can have a hit in the US and what format is she going to sell herself to in terms of Radio Formats? I'm hoping for more Rhythmic/Pop sounding songs since they do well as Beyonce and Rihanna have done well in that genre

Lmao. You will get to see her I'm sure. She signed to KWL management which is run by Kevin Liles. He discovered Jay-Z, Kanye West, Estelle, Trey Songz and they've all become popular in the US.
And like I said, her manager at KWL, Jojo, also just got hired as Senior Vice President at Epic Records, and it looks like he is involved with LaFace Records as well, so Alex could have a joint deal.
Rebecca is good, but her label didn't really try for her to make it in the US. But yeah she's not that relevant any more. I like her voice though.

I think it will be leaning towards Urban/AC. I'm not expecting CHR/Pop but Rhythmic is a strong possibility as well.

So pretty much I should expect her to be to do promo on places like 106 & Park and work in the same market Ciara does. Her music in the past was very CHR/Pop and Rhythmic friendly, I miss those days

Yea that's probably a better idea.
Funny that you picked out Tamar, I've been watching Braxton Family Values recently and see a lot of similarities between her and the Braxton sisters. Their huge personalities are received pretty well in the US, which something Alex struggles with at home, so I'm hoping she can achieve similar reception.
Good to hear about her manager and new label. Syco really let her down.

Actually I would disagree. Syco let her down after 2010 since they basically put her on hold

I think so. It's not fully clear yet, but it's looking that way.
Funny you should say that, All Night Long (feat. Pitbull) was sent to US radio (I even heard it in NY one time) back in 2010 but Syco/Epic cancelled it like 2 weeks later or something. I think that song would have been a Hot 100 top 10 for her. I have no idea why her US launch was scrapped back then. She even had an Overcome (US Edition) all recorded and ready to go. So weird.
She has recorded some pop songs recently though. A snippet of a song Pitbull feat. Alexandra Burke - Shots For The DJ leaked, and that song is a JAM. I'm not sure I can post a link here so Google it and you will find it. I love that song so much, I hope a full version is released at some point.
