Lady Gaga will remain a household name and Lara Stone will remain that girl with the gap in her teeth that the few people who actually follow models know is 'really good' at having her photo taken. Good for her.
And Nicole is right, she is reinforcing the models are stupid stereotype and adding to the list of models bitter because the era of the supermodel is over and the era of the 'I can do it all' celebrity has begun. No one is interested in models anymore, people like their products to be sold to them by a familiar and loved face...not a funny looking one.

She has a point. Most models either get high fashion work or more commercial work. The majority of the VS models are nobodies in the fashion industry. There's not many models that can do it all, Lara's one of the few who can.

And? Megan Fox did that for a job too.
The difference is, Megan Fox is considered a Sex Symbol to the majority of the world while Lara is relatively unknown outside of the fashion world. Its not her fault shes seen as basic in the public eye though

I think some of these models are a little pissed at Lady Gaga.
Real high fashion embraces weird, sometimes even ugly. So Gaga's lacking looks aren't really an issue to designers. In an age when the supermodel is on the decline, a lot of important people in the fashion industry (McQueen, Wintour, Lagerfeld, Gaultier, Armani, Versace, Jacobs, etc) have flocked to Gaga b/c she's more famous than the models, and unlike other big celebrities she doesn't say no to the ugliest, weirdest, most out there outfits. She's a great, high-profile canvas for them to try out pretty much anything they want.

Lady Gaga is not really supposed to be sexy. She knows this. I think everyone knows this. Being sexy is more about how you feel than you look, and is that what Lara was trying to say?

She is undeniably good at what she does but as you said earlier she is not what is typically perceived as sexy, much like Lady Gaga, so who is she to say what is and isn't sexy when attractiveness is pretty much subjective.
It is also bugging me a lot today because of how bitter models have been coming across as recently. Not to sound like a bitch but models aren't exactly paid to talk about stuff like that, and they often end up more successful if they talk less like this...Kate Moss for example has barely done any interviews and she IS a household name.

Of course she is, being a singer is way bigger than being a model. But the fact tha Lara can make 4.5 milli in a year being "girl with the gap in her teeth", i think she's just fine.
Just because she said Gaga was not sexy that makes her stupid? Than i guess 90% of the world is too. The only thing celebrities are taking away from models are US Vogue covers and very few ads, they remain taking care of the fashion world, as it shoud be.
