Discussion: Why do the Hive and Army fight so much?

I'm not fully sure why they constantly come for Beyonce, as she's in a different league and has been since CIL. Like, why not go after Taylor Swift or Katy Perry? Someone using a similar formula? Or a better question, why the need to go after anyone at all? It's sad really
If I had to guess, I would say it's an inferiority complex from Britney fans. Seeing someone else from her era at the top of their game, get massive acclaim, as she continues to sell less and less with each release. It stings for them to see their "queen" shrink in the presence of Bey. They wish Britney was Beyonce. They wish Britney performed and sang like Bey. They wish Britney still sold like Beyonce did with her latest album. Basically, they wish it was 2003/4 every single day. It's sad really.

Sadly RIAA disagrees, as Femme Fatale is certified Platinum

Which should make it easier for Beyoncé to catch up to Britney's total sold

At least she had the power to ship it enough for a platinum certificate without even trying or being on every tv show

Before I joined atrl, I never really thought about Britney that much. I use to be a huge fan of Britney from about 99-2004, but I have always been a Bey stan. I don't even know why Bey and Britney are compared, Bey is r&b/poplite and Britney is pure bubble gum machine pop. No shade, I give Britney her props, she has more talent and impact than Katy and Rih etc imo.
I've never seen this stan war anywhere else but atrl, its strange. I mean Katy vs Gaga makes sense, Rih vs Bey makes more sense because they are going to be compared because they are both black, linked to Jay and make r&b music. But the Britney vs Bey stan war doesn't really make sense other than them being in the industry the same amount of time and achieving legend status.

Aha, except certifications have always been about shipments and always will be. There is no such thing as "platinum selling". Its either platinum or its not, and RIAA says it is

I agree! Britney is a legend and Beyoncé is not. They shouldn't be compared.

Christ It ain't that serious.
The two can coexist just fine. They're kinda like salt and pepper. Both dominated and were incomparable at their respective peaks. Just be glad we've been able to experience greatness in our lifetime.

Britney is content with what she has done and she should be, but yeah, it's clear she has checked out of ever trying to push herself musically. She is happy to do the bare minimum and reap maximum benefits
Let the Army have their receipts. Like any of them actually defines or has any impact on Bey

If Beyoncé releases her 8th album and does 0 promotion for the era and still sells million of copies, then we will talk about this again.

Exactly. People on here act like you have to choose between the two.

honestly britney really seems to have you pressed and stressed, if they wanted britney to be beyonce they would stan for beyonce. they clearly prefer britney's music and i don't blame them.

What do you mean? I don't recall saying it was a serious matter?
Seeing as there has been about 20 threads created today, for Bey V Brit, I think it is kind of "serious", in whatever way you gauge ATRL threads
I imagine it's not like "my next door neighbour has ebola" serious, yano?
