Anyway, Gaga is not much different than the people she mentioned in the OP, even though her fans would like to think so. She has great vocal ability and has some sort of an artistic vision, but she still fits right into the mainstream with everyone else for the most part.

She fits into the mainstream because she makes POP music but she doesn't make empty Pop music like most of her contemporaries.

Ehhh, by experimental they mean BTW was not the sugary pop perfection-esque music that radio eats up. It was different lyrically & musically from the usual Pop music that is played on the radio and appreciated by the masses.

Those artists are all very different and its kind of ridiculous to deny it.

BTW isn't some vastly experimental indie record or anything, but she did experiment on it. Songs like Government Hooker, Bloody Mary, Electric Chapel, Americano, Heavy Metal Lover, Highway Unicorn etc aren't your typical Pop songs. It's not a "generic EDM and dance" album as much as you want to pretend it is.
