I feel so confused after my first listen!
- The deluxe tracks really make everything weird. I don't know! I wasn't expecting a closer BOP like
Florida Kilos on an album like this... It's like the catchiest bop about trafficking & snorting coke!
-
Guns And Roses is really strange placed between
Black Beauty &
Florida Kilos.
- I don't like
The Other Woman as the standard album closer.
- It's weird how all the long songs are lumped in the first half of the album together.
- I'm replacing the 'album version' of WC w/ the
Rob Orton/Original mix.
- The album overall is very raw... & I think that'll take some getting used to for most people, including myself. The production feels different on every track, really, so it's not as cohesive a *listening* experience as Born To Die was, with the continuous sound effects & smooth transitions.
- It's like she found a winning formula with
Born To Die then went a little left with
Paradise & then just said 'To hell with it!' & doesn't give a **** about the GP. That's also what makes me admire & enjoy the album, because we know it turned out exactly how she wanted & she was bold enough to make that happen!
- I'm surprised her record label gave her 100% freedom to release an album like this. It's a brave move, & I hope the album will see critical success (though I highly doubt it...)!
Time for my 2nd listen!
