I don't know whether to buy The Sims 4 or not since it's on sale. I got a new computer yesterday and I'm too lazy to re-install all my patches and mods for The Sims 3, but I'm not sure if it's worth buying The Sims 4.

I'm in a similar predicament. I have a new computer but I lost all my files for the sims 3 years ago and I was a couple years and so it's kinda hard for me to start over. Especially with hair and clothing custom content.
I wish the Sims 4 had create a style, because the clothes look a lot better it just sucks he you are so relegated to a few patterns, the same with the hair - except I think the hair texture in general looks gross.

The Sims 4 is good but with DLC. By itself, it's nothing special. But Get Together (the most recent EP) got really good reviews (78 on Metacritic which is high for a Sims EP).
Spa Day and Outdoor Retreat also got good feedback from fans. Get To Work is the only "meh" thing for the price, because devs seem to have an issue making Retail Workers "work".
Only buy Get To Work if you loved Ambitions or Open For Business. Otherwise it's filler for people not bothered with careers.
I would get it. Also if you're a CC junkie, the Sims 4 can handle CC without bloating.

Sims 3EPs on sale on Origin I am buying them all as I have a computer that can handle it now, finally...I am so excited.
Also TS4 is not worth anything. Work wih what you already have and go from there.

They fix them, then they break, the fix them, they are broken again it's a shame because running a business is like the best thing you can do outside running a family in the sims, and they keep messing it up.
Sims 3 business dlc was a mess, get to work is great for 3 months, bad for one, good for 2 weeks, bad for 3 years like yelp

the reason I want it the most is to make a clothing store and if the workers aren't working...

I have a good computer and I'm unable to play TS3 decently, although I have a fair amount of DLC, Mods & all EPs + SPs.
The thing with TS3 is that it's just not meant to be played with all released content (much less fan-made stuff) because its engine is extremely ******, even if you're on a powerful computer and install the whole game directory in a RamDisk it will still lag way too much
It just can't be saved

That's why I give The Sims 4 an extra point. It can run smoothly even with all of Tumblr's custom content installed.
On the other hand, The Sims 3 is a flop in terms of game speed and stability.

Ugh I will never play The Sims 3 again if only because of that half an hour loading screen
TS4 is like The Flash in comparison.
But Get Together is probably the best thing that could've happened to TS4. It brings something entirely new to the table that previous editions didn't have, and it's so easy now to have group outings and the like without all of your Sims being antisocial.

The December patch messed up a lot of things. My Sims always need to pee. Not playing until the fix it because it's useless playing when everything you tell them to do, they stop to pee

The computer I was playing the sims 3 on was fantastic and handled a good bit of the EPs. No lags and no forever loading screens. The computer I am getting is even better as it is a gaming computer. It's a shame that the TS3 can onlybe fully enjoyed at this length, because th game is really fantastic.
If they' remastered TS2 with a new CAST and some other TS3 elements then I would be in heaven.

I'm devastated.I've been playing with TS3 , loads oc CC,mods,EPs, Stuff packs etc.. legacy family's etc.. And NOW I have a new laptop that doesn't have a DISK drive. So NOW I either have to find a way to transfer ALL my stuff and be able to get all my CC and expansions back through Origin.
someone HELP! I've been deprived of my Sims 3 game for about 7 months now and I cant take it anymore I miss my Sims!

If you register your games on Origin it will let you download them.

I think I'm about to redownload the sims 4. I gave it a try and didn't like it, but it's on sale for $20 and it probably won't be this cheap again until this time next year if not for a few more years.

Origin + you'll need an external hard drive to transfer other files like mods, saved games etc...

The new 4K edition of the Sims 2 is so sharp.
And now The Sims 2 Stories collection is out as well.
Playing in 4K is so clear and sharp and ugh. Just breaths new life into it.
100% worth rebuying (I lost my old mac copies anyway).
