Obviously she doesn't have to put out a generic uptempo pop collection every album. And maybe you don't like that but that's okay too
Madonna didn't just put out dance records constantly ALLLLLL the time. This era actually reminds me a lot of Madonna's Bedtime Stories. Very 90s r&b/spacey midtempos and ballads. It's my favorite Madonna album (and also contained one of her biggest hits "Take A Bow"). Also see Ray of Light.
Not all pop albums need to be filled with generic Dr. Luke dance breaks and Max Martin hooks. I'm actually very very pleased with the sound of this record.
