I really feel as if Jay had to make a choice. Bey has always hated what she viewed as female competition. Look how she did Kelly Rowland. You would think Jay has more pull to do as he pleases but I don't think it works that way. All a theory.

Well, obviously it would have been polite of him to show up but I honestly believe you guys are blowing this way out of proportion. I also agree Rih giving 0 flying ****s about that fact. Yes, Jay was there at the beginning of her career, but does that mean he has to be present at every single event she hosts in perpetuity? It was a charity ball for her foundation, not a ball to honor her Hot100 #1's or chart achievements or anything like that, lol.

ETA: Also, Rih may not be Bey's favourite person in the world, but I am of the opinion that this "Bey doesn't like Rih" thing has its fair share of fan fic in order to fuel Navy vs Hive stan wars.

I wholeheartedly agree with your entire post. I don't think for one second that Jay doesn't support Rih, but at the end of the day as her career has soared Jay has stepped back more and more because Rih doesn't really need him much now. I don't believe in this "Bey doesn't like Rih" they have VERY different personalities. Rih is more of a socialite by comparison, Bey is more private so it's not a secret that they don't hang out. Also Rih doesn't co sign, and Stan out for Bey all the time either but I do believe they have a mutual respect which is what matters.

He's not doing Rih any favors because he was actually just about to do just that but he saw the dollar signs she had the potential to make. At one point, he and Rih weren't just about the dollars only. He said she was like family so since when is your family only about dollars? Honestly, I hope she does designate Jay to business-only type interactions. She may do even better.
