Their album started to blow up after "Pumped" blew up, tho. You would think they would have more people aware of their album first week.
None of their singles off Torches did as well as PUK, not by a long shot. Supermodel hasn't been heavily marketed, at least from what I've seen. The singles are doing alright for alt. radio, but they haven't charted anywhere else. 55k is higher than their debut week, and at least PUK had some exposure in June of 2011.

Their album has scanned around ~850k, right? In most cases, a success like that would spill over into the following era, causing a way higher first week than before. Makes me wonder what similar acts will open up with with their next albums.

I wouldn't expect fun. to do much better unless they put out a successful lead.
Still stunting, how you love that
Got the whole world asking how I does that
Hot girl, hands off, don't touch that
Look at that I bet you wishing you could clutch that
It's just the way you like it, huh?
You're so good, he's just wishing he could bite it, huh? (say what what?)
Never turn down money
Slaying these hoes, gold trigger on the gun like
Who that, who that, I-G-G-Y
That do that, do that, I-G-G-Y
Who that, who that, I-G-G-Y
Speaking of the Italian coke***** RAT, I didn't watch her barf performance but I saw a gif and that was more than enough. If she likes drugs & vomit so much, she can choke on it like Jesse's gf who OD'd on Breaking Bad.
Desperate clown thinks she's being an "anti-popstar" by having people BARF in her ugly face instead of doing it with good songs and videos.

Not necessarily a similar act, but I bet someone like Kendrick Lamar will probably open with 300-400k, even with a bomb single. Foster The People never really had pull.

It was heavily based on that one hit song (which actually started the whole alternative revival and really deserves credit for bringing indie pop mainstream, Fun. wouldn't have happened without Pumped Up Kicks), and they waited way too long, 3 years since their debut album which for a new act in this day and age is bad.
Sometimes waiting too long and no hit is all it takes for a massive, massive dive in sales with the next album....happened to No Doubt, Smashing Pumpkins, Counting Crows in the 90s.

Did you watched her Seth Meyers performance? It was good/cute.
