i'm with you on that one. i've always hated the system in country music. they seems to always parading their toys, doesn't matter if its good or bad, as long as its 'country', while the real country has died a while ago. what a shame.
taylor has a great ear for bluegrass/blues/folk/rock type. that's why i secretly hope that she kick that country label at times. make more mean & dear john please.

well, like i said, this award show is just another popularity contest for the tv, not awarding the real artist. if they really want to show their appreciation to great artist, alison krauss should have won that.

I was actually going to say that I was happy for Carrie winning, especially when that particular song was hardly successful... I have no problem with Carrie as a person or as an artist...
I have no interest in stan wars between the two of them; I have seen the horrors of a carrie fan forum where they have 400+ pages just bashing on the speak now era and referring to Taylor as a disease. I lost A LOT of respect for Carrie's fans after that... :/

to be honest with you, im not into country at all. so i can't say much. BUT, if they really want to appreciate the real artist and ignore the fan votes, they should have given it to alison krauss. when it's clear that she's the grammys queen, she always makes good music, but seems like it doesn't matter at all.

Urr.. I was like that kinda, I was stereotypical about Speak Now because of You Belong With Me being such a big pop song.. Then I listened to it and actually really enjoy the album. I just don't get why people are trying to start a stan war between them when they cater to two completely different groups.

+1 to this! i mean, come on peeps! do y'all forget that music is not a competition at the very first place? like the music you like, talk about it. don't bash on other's faves. liking a different thing from others doesn't make you smarter or in a higher position that them. i call that ********, yeah, im talking about that carrie fans who love to bash on taylor.

Imagine if BMR gets bought out by Sony or whoever... I think it'd be rather counter-productive.
I love the musical diversity Taylor has- country, pop, rock, bluegrass, etc. Her diversity is part of what makes her so appealing and interesting as an artist. I don't want her to lose that.

well, i didn't pay attention to that ********s at first. but they started to getting on my nerves. always bashing without facts. i mean, if you dare to talk trash about taylor, at least you should have backed your opinion with something, not just an old same ********.
i was in an argument war with a carrie fan and called him/herself as a 'real country fan' who don't actually know what he/she said. i gave the facts, and being called for it. i mean, wtf dude? you asked for answers, and when i gave it to you along with the facts, you called it ********? fck it.

did kenny win touring? If what you say is true nobody besides him and Taylor stood a chance...If they wanted to be fair.

also +1 to this. if they really consider the fan votes, taylor would win (AMAs? ACMs?). if the industry votes, still win (CMAs? GRAMMYs?). smh.

total nightmare. sony is a disaster, like our favesies bob lefsetz said in his blog.
im all for musical diversity in speak now, but i wish she make less poppy stuff in the future. just dont give a **** to the media & chart perception. make good music only, taylor. i cant wait for the real taylor swift to stand up (thanks messina for that quote).

YASS!! Taylor talked to MTV about the 4th album!
Quote:
"I can't tell you, because it's a secret," Swift teased. "It will be unveiled when it all comes out, because they all seem to have a theme to them, the records that we've put out so far, and this one is no different. It's very different in what it's about, but it's no different in the fact that it has its own name."
|
does it mean less poppy stuffs? i'll die of happiness if it's true!

PS: the article about bon iver's comment on grammys. this is the grammy that he 'slammed', imagine his comment on the kind of award shows like aca. lol.

I think the next album won't be so love based; a song about Jake, and maybe a few others... I think the Joe topic has finally expired
I've actually been thinking for a while it will revolve more around her comment about "achieving contentment" or however she worded it. The other thing that's been on my mind is that there could be songs about life and death; she lost a close friend right after SN was released, she's lost at least one young fan to a disease, etc.
As long as she doesn't take a religious direction with her lyrics, I'll be happy. I can tolerate it to an extent, but it's the biggest put-off for me in music.

aldean won on touring category? lol. kenny or taylor were the more deserved one. they had two spots for this year's biggest tours, behind u2 & bon jovi. just saying.

maybe it will be more about life i think. ditto to the 'achieving contentment' quote, add it with the arm lyrics, i pretty much can picture the transitional stage she's in right now. a song about life & death would be good.
agree again on your religious music direction comment. but i kinda scared that she may put some of it to her music, based on how country music rolls. please don't taylor, just no.
