Yes, but it was already not planned to be out until Q4 2016/Q1 2017. So it wasn't delayed by a lot. They weren't that far into filming when they replaced him anyways.

That wasn't a big deal for the timing, the show got the renew for a second season not immediately but after months, because it wasn't an immediate hit like 'Orange is the new black' for example, or other shows of them like 'Daredevil' or 'Stranger Things'.
Even if they don't have ratings, the number of streams is almost the same thing for them (indeed they cancelled 'Marco Polo' this year and they spent a lot money on it), plus a lot of reviews weren't that enthusiastic about the first season when it came out.
The show needs more fans, also because is very expensive to produce and filming it.
Probably they decide to release this Xmas Special, not only because of the theme but to gain new fans and viewers for the second season.

While the orgy is amazing, Capheus being there was a bit weird, He hasn't really shown any sexual interest in any body before, I wanted his eventual inclusion in the orgy to be an event or plot point like they did with Kala and Sun's inclusion.

The last fight scene, both sun and wolfgang were in the same shot physically attacking the two separate terrorists! Director has confirmed its not a mistake and it's something about their powers in season 2!!!!
