The direction change is not the problem. I love R&B. My Love is Like a Star (which is probably the purest R&B song on the album) is my favorite song on the album and one of my favorite songs she has ever done but alot of the other tracks just do not work for me.
The first four tracks on the album could've been recorded by any Disney artist imo. Demi is better than that. I feel like her label wanted "hits" so she had to record some of these songs. I can't be mad at her for wanting to be successful though so whatever.
true the first 4 are somewhat generic but no other disney gurl could could sing the rest of the songs on the album like demi. personally i feel this album is her best.
