The Holocaust wasn't religiously motivated. The church aided them but the ideology itself was not born from religion.

Many Nazis were Atheists or even Nihilists.

Yes, but there was still a continuation of the religious and ethnic persecution of Jews that existed in Europe for centuries. My point is just that religion has brought about plenty of violence and strife throughout history.

I give you that. Anti-Judaism had existed for centuries before. And there was general mistrust so it was easy to aggravate people.

I agree with your point, I just wanted to point out that the Holocaust can't accurately be described as 'caused by religion'.

The holocaust was more so caused by self hatred from Hilter than religion. Religion played a part but it wasn't the biggest factor in Hilter's eyes I mean.

I have friends who studied at a Catholic school, pay tuition fees for theology subjects that were unnecessary to the educational programs but all of them were un-bothered nor affected by it. I have friends who spent their entire High School in an exclusive secular schools but neither one of them show manifestations of undesirable characteristics for a devout follower of an organized religion. And in conclusion, it didn't create a cautious wall for us all in varying beliefs to clash at any given moment whenever we slip religion-related jests or minor types of mocking.

The thing about this stereotype is as bad as the people who has premeditated notions about them. I'm Asian and this whole religious influence being merged with our culture is apparently undeniable but you don't see us complaining and zealously advocating for a drastic change of status quo because we treat each other fairly and we respect each others' stance on certain things.

On a serious note, I agree that it's never justified and the means will remain inhumane but I guess we could make exceptions. I always put myself into their situations in passing judgments on things that are basically
highly sensitive and I also consider the validity of their involvement in crimes. Being falsely accused is such a horrible predicament I wouldn't wish even in my mortal enemy. As for police brutality kind of torture, I'm totally against it. Those men in uniform should be aware between the line of their duty and moral limitations.
