The thing is, the writers of PLL are only going for the shock factor even if it doesn't make sense. The summer finale was shocking but it just lacks something. They go through all these mess & new discoveries but I promise you all of those "clues" wouldn't make sense at the end of the season. I guarantee you 100% it was just last minute they thought of Toby being A, same with Mona. Whole season/show long they write and film scenes of a man or a girl running with a black hoodie not knowing who that is.

Such a mess of a show sometimes and full of flaw but it's ABC family. Yes, all of these Spoby fans would still watch it.

Marlene's twittering ass is shady as hell. I don't trust her the same way we can't trust any of her characters anymore. I love the show & all but they can't just build their relationships for countless of episodes and convince us they're all just betraying each other for finales.

I thought that Toby was trying to find out about A ("I know you won't tell me, I'll find out for myself"), and thats how he ended up in the A Team. I doubt he's one of the bad guys.

I doubt Mona or the whole A team is that dumb to let Toby in last minute.

However, I actually want that to happen since I refuse to believe Toby is evil and also I want to see how good their writers are if they can make it believable because right now they're an utter mess.

I CAN'T @ everyone from writers to production team to fans tweeting stuffs like PLL pulled off the imposible! Any TV show can make a finale like that where the suspect is unpredictable or one of the supposed protagonist. The thing is after years of watching we already know their pattern, it's predictible how the earlier suspects are never the A and the finale often makes no sense if you look back to all of the clues revealed from the start of the season (I MEAN THE YELLOW ON HIS SHOES? It's like everything was just decided while writing the finale instead of since the start of the season). Yes the Mona is A somehow made sense but it's a weakness to lie to just surprise people because some already got suspicious of her in season 1 and last season they made it obvious by adding last minute Mona "jealous at the girls" again storyline before finale. I hope the writers just get it together and not just pull of the impossible but make it believable.

Marlene King has confirmed that Toby's intentions are NOT good (http://www.tvfanatic.com/2012/08/pre...a-shocking-re/) so people can stop with these "he's on the A Team to protect the girls" theories.

And anyway, I still think Aria is on the A Team too and I don't think Alison is really dead.

Marlene King has already said that his intentions aren't good. I'm pretty sure he's been on the A Team from the first season. I mean, he has a motive. Alison and the girls were so horrible to him, they blamed the Jenna Thing on him and called him Freak Toby, etc.

He wasnt the one who killed Maya.
And why was A glad he was out? Does that mean he's also in the A Team?

at Mona, going in and out of the mental hospital like a BOSS, with her entrance card and nurse clothes and all.

People saying this twist makes no sense obviously forgot about season 1A.
Toby was playing Spencer the whole time just like Mona was playing Hanna. And the Nate being the True North stalker makes sense too. Everyone knew he was violent and obsessive from the beginning. Besides, NOBODY talks about a cousin the way Nate talked about Maya. It was kind of obvious, actually.

It's like:
Caleb gets shot.
Paige is gagged and bound.
Nate gets stabbed.
Toby is A.
And then Ezra eats cake with Maggie.
His storylines are such a waste of screen time. And his problems are so dumb. And he brings them all upon himself anyways.

Back to the episode. I loved how they tied up the True North thing. And I was shocked and speechless when they revealed Toby. I don't understand why people on tumblr are saying it makes no sense and it was stupid. If anything, Toby makes the MOST sense. He has every reason to hate Allison and these girls. And he has the date of Allison's death along with 'Free at last' tattooed on his waist. Did people forget that? He was playing these girls the whole time just like Mona was. I think it was a brilliant plot twist and I'm so glad they did it. It was really risky and they're going to lose some viewers (the Spoby shippers. I kid you not, there are people on tumblr that are saying they're done with this show because of this), but if anything, it makes me want to watch it even more. I'm so excited for season 3b.

I'm glad he's okay. But still. I flipped out and nearly started crying when he got shot. But when I saw that he wasn't in a body bag, I calmed down. XD
Only thing, though. He had a wound on his front. Didn't Nate shoot him in the back? Or did he try to shoot Emily and just missed? Meh. Whatever. Not a big deal.

omg I completely forgot about the "free at last" tattoo thing. I never trusted him from the beginning and his excuse for that tattoo was lame.
