Ah, here's the thing: Powers also switch when the Illusionist switches two fates.
So if everyone was voting off Monte & the sniper said to kill Monte, but the Illusionist switched Doc & Monte, then Doc would both be voted off & killed by the sniper (Thus wasting the Sniper's one kill) & Monte would be safe.

Since everyone got a role, it's easy to decipher each individual roles via process of elimination.

It was in Season 4 when hwwho asked for proof of the other campers because he got killed very early in the game. He said that those who do not PM a printscreen of their role they will be exposed in the thread.
I was just using it as an example.
