Young, Foolish, and Happy was okay, rushed, and (at some points) sappy. It would be hard to listen to another Pixie album after that one, even though if it had great songs like All About Tonight and Dancing on My Own. But then, second chances are given.
Following the trend of self-title albums (especially for those artists who cannot find their names on the maps, not even the fourth page of ATRL), Pixie drops a new album full of soul. This album has a lot of it that maybe she can give some of it to some. Her voice, being noticeably different, showcases a lot of emotion and artistry, enough to be commended. At some points, she even sounds like Duffy.
When Heart Cry was first released, it was kind of alright. Just alright. Nothing to be keen on or anything. Even Nasty was on the same level, but I'd have to say it's catchy. It's also perfect for the throwback feel, but that's something we get a lot these days anyway. Lay Me Down is good, but it still didn't give that feeling that I will check this album out. I wasn't really interested on this one, even though I was a huge fan of Pixie back then. Then I gave it a try.
Highlights:
- - Champion
I think it's probably the best one on the album. It's classic Pixie, but it's also fresh. It's catchy, and actually has great lyrics. The build-up is amazing, and I am wondering why this wasn't the lead single.
- - Leaving You
What is a Pixie album without a heartbreaker? Pixie can deliver such a heartbreaking song so easily. This one is simple, but very beautifully written
.
Downfall:
- - Ocean
Sometimes, a mess can be the size of a puddle. Sometimes, a mess can be the size of an ocean. But this one, probably just a lake.
- - Bonus tracks
Nothing negative, just a problem. I don't know why these bonus tracks didn't make the final tracklist, especially Cry Baby. It fits the album very well..
This album is great, the least I can say. This album, at the very least, can get back the fans Pixie lost during the years.

Following the underperformance of her second studio album 'Young Foolish Happy', which was not only a lackluster commercially but quality wise, Pixie returns with her third studio album, the self-titled and eponymous 'Pixie Lott'. The Motown influenced album, which many British pop artists are citing for their latest and newest works (see Leona Lewis' Christmas album) there are some high expectations as Lott has a tone to her voice that would be nothing short of Motown heaven. But after thorough listens to the album, perhaps Pixie Lott's vocals are one out of the few good things about the album. The twelve track standard edition of the album features outstanding vocals from Pixie Lott, something that lacked on her last effort. Lott gave us a tease of those vocals on the album's lead single 'Nasty', a Christina Aguilera reject, a song she went through plenty of legal business for, her team spending months being able to record it due to it's samples, was grating and monotonous. Those legal issues were pointless for a song with such a lack of quality. Surprisingly, the other eleven tracks of the album are ten times better than 'Nasty'. That unfortunately isn't speaking of much for someone of Lott's talent. The lyricism on the album is inferior to many of her contemporaries' lastest efforts, which is not surprising as Lott's last two albums have also been. What makes up for that are the strong melodies on the album that Lott sings, giving a very modern taste to melodies that sound straight out of the Motown era. The strong up tempos are there but they lead straight into an endless chain of ballads. Ballads that can save you from a pricy bill from an anesthesiologist if you're getting surgery. The songs are not terrible but it's perhaps the fact they do not stand out at all. The album is far too ballad dominated, much like her last effort. The uptempos are the high points of the album and are the only tracks worth listening to if you're not looking to fall asleep. Try to listen to your album as a whole before you release it, Miss Lott.

A complete sentence has three characteristics:
First, it begins with a capital letter.
In addition, it includes an end mark—either a period [ . ], question mark [ ? ], or exclamation point [ ! ].
Most importantly, the complete sentence must contain at least one main clause. A main clause contains an independent subject and verb and expresses a complete thought.
Goodbye.

SINGLE REVIEW
God Damn, God Damn!
A ***Flawless Remix Review
Like a haunting tribal infused ghetto church hymn, Beyoncé’s ***Flawless returns with Nicki Minaj and boy was the feature way overdue.
We all know that Beyoncé’s pipes are blessed and highly flavored, but since when did she become such a skilled rapper? Yoncé rides the second half of Flawless, sans Chimamanda, in a vein similar to Lil Wayne. Adding to her authenticity, she uses autotune vocal modulation in the way that her husband banished from the industry 2009’s Death of Autotune like a good wife would. How bold, Mrs. Carter.
Yoncé’s portion of the record is packed with punch lines but her Billion dollars on the elevator line, which addresses this year’s Met Gala fight in the elevator incident between her husband and sister Solange, is absolutely killer. As a long time follower of Beyoncé, I know that in the past she handled scandal by simply pretending that it didn't exist. Nowadays, Beyoncé addresses everything and tackles it head-on. What a woman!
Nicki Minaj comes in at the end of the record and holds absolutely nothing back. From the audacious use of profanity, making references to her and Beyoncé’s *****, and the controversial reference’s to Condrad Murray’s use of propofol in his treatment of Michael Jackson leading to his death, there’s no lack of lyrical genius. Again, she holds nothing back.
All in all, I can sum up my thoughts about this collaboration in one word: Finally.
VERDICT

Let me review ***Flawless (Remix) that I've been bopping to for the the past few days.
Let me start off by saying, that Beyoncé inspired me to use the word "thot", without feeling like a ratchet park girl Anyway, this song is perfect I love Bey's new verses and glad that they weren't lazy and actually re-recorded the song instead of just slapping Nicki's verse at the end of the song Nicki's flow was ***Flawless and she gave me Monster teas with her delivery I'm still pressed that this song was better than anything Nicki has released from the Pink Print I'm glad Bey mentioned the elevator incident and poked fun at it instead of trying to brush it under the rug and act like it didn't happen
But anyway, before I start rambling, i give the song a perfect score 10/10. It made me really excited for the Pink Print Solange and Jay-Z should've made a cameo

"***Flawless" (Remix) by Beyoncé & Nicki Minaj
Two of the most powerful black female musicians (sans only Rihanna) collaborated for a track promoting self-confidence and not letting others get you down. Both women have good reasons to feel ***flawless: Beyoncé's critically acclaimed self-titled fifth album recently was certified 2x Platinum and the On the Run tour is her third world tour in a row to gross over $100 million while Nicki has gotten nonstop praise this year for her music, lyrics, toned down image, and ventures outside of music.
Beyoncé and Nicki are clearly in their prime and stronger than ever as well which adds to why this track is so great.
The already ***flawless track got quite the makeover with this remix. Beyoncé has a rap verse in addition to new sung lyrics (the "I wake up looking this good / And I wouldn't change it if I could" portion) followed by an amazing “Spottiespottieottiedopaliscious”-sampled interlude and a spectacular rap verse from Nicki.
Both of the rap verses delivered by the two women are absolute fire. Beyoncé holds her own against Nicki, arguably even outshining Nicki on the track and becoming one of the only people to successfully outshine Nicki on a track she is featured on. Noted, not even Beyoncé's husband could hold his own against Nicki on "Monster" back in 2010.
Beyoncé's shining moments within her verse include the elevator line, the pound cake line, and her use of the acronym, but often treated as a regular word, "thot". Only the Queen B could get away with using that acronym and make you reconsider adding the word into your vocabulary.
I love how Beyoncé summons Nicki by using her real name during the Outkast-sampled interlude and then Beyoncé coming back for the "These bitches thirsty, I'm Hungarian." line which is everything! And Nicki just went IN from that point on. There is not denying it and the way Beyoncé didn't even add an additional chorus or a spoken outro from herself at the end of the song shows, to me, that Bey believed Nicki killed it and there was no point in adding anything else.
Simply put, the remix to ***Flawless is ***flawless.
Score: 10/10

Beyoncé & Nicki Minaj - Flawless (Remix)
Beyoncé & Nicki. Nicki & Beyoncé. How did this not happen before the "Flawless" remix, like I'm actually wondering why this is the first time I've heard Nicki & Beyoncé on a track together. But thank God it happened because it's divine. Finally we got what we all needed, some of y'all might not have known you needed it, but damn I have been waiting for this a long time.
Of course all songs have a beginning and the "Flawless" remix has got some history for sure. First signs of this song go back all the way to March 2013 when Queen B released "Bow Down/I Been On", then we got a full track and video December 2013 named "***Flawless". Now, August 2014, we got an official remix and it slayed me hard. I've been a fan of this song since day one. When I first heard "Bow Down/I Been On" I was bopping to it for weeks, when I got "***Flawless" I felt flawless for months and this remix is gonna give me life for years and to be honest it's already gonna go down in history books. You might wonder why, well because of one line: "Of course sometimes **** go down when it's a billion dollars on the elevator". You're damn right, B, call dem mothafockas out on their BS. From the day that video was leaked, Jayoncé hasn't had a single moment of solitude from the media, the divorce mill hasn't stopped. It was about time B shut y'all up!
Oh and let's not forget she got some help as well, cause how iconic and amazing those first two minutes are, sh*t really goes down when the Queen of Rap gets her introduction: "Onika"! Yes yes, it's Onika Maraj once again giving an amazing verse for the lessers. She fiercely knocks this one out of the park and with some help of Beyoncé's already amazing song, she gives "Flawless" that extra punch. I wish she could've gone harder here and there but then again there are few rappers who could've done this as good as she did so I only can applaud Nicki for delivering once again.
Nothing more left to say, I believe, I guess you got my point. Beyoncé and Nicki are the perfect combination. Let's hope those rumors about Bey appearing on "The Pink Print" are true so we can experience all of this once again. Oh and I really hope we gonna get this live soon, cause I need those two on stage together.
9.5/10
