That's always the way it is. The more songs you have on an album, the more chance there is for crap filler tracks.

I hate to turn everything into something about Lorde but that's exactly why she didn't include tonnes of tracks on her album, and why it turned out so good and critically acclaimed. She said herself that was the reason. It's 10 quality tracks long and filler free from wall to wall.
