Lady Gaga is the first artist after Michael Jackson making a show so good, and this is about the whole package: sound, voice supported by attitude, scenery, costumes, special effects, choreography, theater, music, lighting
|
and thats alll that matters.

Here it is!
My Born This Way Ball Tour Review!
I attended the concert in Romania, 3 days ago and, sincerly, I can't find a right word to describe what I've felt that night. It was beyond magical, beyond epic and it was definitely the best thing I've ever saw in my whole life. Now I understand why Gaga always said that you don't get to know her really, until you don't see her live in a concert. I still can't believe she decided to come in our country, insted of choosing more economicaly powerful countries like Turkey or Hungary. I swear, I will always remember that and I will always respect and love her for this decision, which I could say, from the bottom of my heart, that it changed my life. Buying that ticket to her show was the best decision I've ever made in my whole life and no matter how many hours I've been waiting in the sun, trying to get the wristband for the monster pit, no matter how thirsty I was because there was no water left and it was freaking hot, it totally deserved everything I did to get there!
So I will start with the beginning:
I've got there at 8 AM in the morning because I wasn't actually dresses ''to ball'' so I told myself that if I'm there at that hour and I'm one of the first people in line I will be chosen to get in the monster pit. I was actually 10 minutes late and when I arrived, there were already 100 people dressed or not waiting in line, dancing, singing, talking. I was a bit scared that I'm not going to make it but then I rememberd that the capacity for the monster pit is around 1.500 people. 2 hours after I arrived there, they told us we should line up now in 2 different rows (because when I got there, all the monsters there were standing in a tent, so there wasn't a clear line for the monster pit). After that, we lined up and waited there for 8 staright hours, until 6PM, because the monster pit wristband were late and they always told us that we should wait if we want to get in there. When they finally came to give us the wristbands all people stared screaming, pushing the fences and going freaking crazy over them. 30 minutes later, we got in the monster pit and it was such a great feeling standing only 2 meters in front of the stage.
At 6:30 PM, Starlight opened the show and I was actually, really surprised that people kind of liked the show she put on. I tought it was kind of ridiculous what she did there but it was ok, because her setlist ended only 30 minutes after she got on stage. The Darkness were the next act to open for Gaga. It was such an amazing show, the atmosphere was great, everyone was clapping, jumpin and having a good time to their songs and they really liked it. They performed for 1 hour I think, around 10 - 12 songs, but it was a really great show they did there.
After they finished the show, everything stopped, stage was quietly until some orchestral music started playing in the background. The castle was covered by a giant silver curtain and w couldn't see anything. At 8:30, Lady Gaga made the hand gesture from the end of the curtain (it was the first time she did this, in any other btwb concert), the hand coming out from the end of the curtain, just like the gesture when the music video for Edge Of Glory begins. That moment, my heart almost exploded of excitement. All the people in the crowd saw it and started screaming like crazy. Only 3 seconds after that, the giant curtain fell and the massive and giant castle was standing there, in front of us. I don't know how Gaga, in only 3 seconds after showing her hand managed to hide, before the curtain fell.
Only 20 seconds later, the show started and Highway Unicorn started bombarding the venue with it's powerfull bass. She arrived riding the unicorn and the dancer who was holding the unicorn was dressed in a black angel, with big black wings. All people were screaming and shouting. It was such a glorious song, and such a glorious moment. Lady Gaga finally arrived in Romania! It was a dream come true for so many people!
Government Hooker followed, and everytime she did a sexual gesture or spread her legs people started screaming. Born This Way was next and the intro was so magnific and powerful...When the chorus of the song kicked in all people started jumpind and dancing to it, it was THE SONG, THE ANTHEM.
Bad Romance and Alejandro were the biggest moments of the whole show, because these 2 sons were her biggest hits ever in my country and everyone knew the lyrics and jumped, and screamed and had a great time.
Just Dance and LoveGame also has an amazing atmosphere because people knew them. When LoveGame kicked and people got confused because she started singing and she wasn't on the stage (I saw the videos on youtube so I knew that she appeard on the other side of the monster pit) so it got like 30 seconds for all the people to realize she was actually there. Judas was another IT moment of the concert because it was the most controversial song and the most used song to promote her concert here. The flag coreography completely slayed, it was EPIC!
Heavy Metal Lover was one of my favorite performances of the night because it freaking electrified the whole crowd. Bad Kids followed and it was such an amazing and great performance for such a weak song (compared to the other songs on the album), I loved it.
When Bad Kids ended she got to her motocycle - piano but she quickly ran away from it backstage because she had to puke. I knew that the running-backstage-thing wasn't planned, but her band already started playing some instrumental version of hair on guitar and I'm sure that if she didn't tell people, after she came back on stage that she puked, more than 90% of the crowd wouldn't have known it wasn't planned like this.
Princess Die and You And I followed. When she said that she's going to play a brand new song, people stared screaming because I'm sure most of them didn't even know of Princess Die. Her vocals were on fire and she gave us an epic moment. You And I was really the MOST GLORIOUS moment of the whole show because she said ROMANIA 5 times during the song and everytime people were just screaming and going crazy over it. All people were clapping and doing the RADIO-GAGA clapping-chorography to the song. That powerful clapping sound made by the people just made the whole performance glorious. It was like, the whole show turned into a 80s kind of rock stadium performance. It transgendered into Electric Chapel and it was perfect. Every single interlude and the organization of the setlist was pure perfection, it couldn't sound better.
Americano followed and when the bride walked down the castle staris all people tought it's Gaga, but it was Victor, her dancer. When the song kicked in, she came on stage dressed in the meat dress and wearing a white-roses crown on her head. Americano was definitely one of the highlights of the night and perhaps the best received non-single track by the crowd. Poker Face followed and the whole atmosphere changed into a kind of club-disco feeling, it was so great.
Paparazzi and Scheise both impressed the public. At the end of Scheise she told us that the show is over and she thanked us for beeing such an amazing country and such an amazing crowd. Some people really believed that the show is over and left the venue, because the gap between Scheisse and the next song, The Edge Of Glory was really big and when people saw that she isn't coming back on stage they really tought that the show was over. After around 2 minutes she appeared at the top of the castle and started singing The Edge Of Glory acoustic version. A lot of people started crying, it was the ultimate GOODBYE song. The intensity of feelings in her voice just got into our souls and made us realize what a great performer she is and what a great show she managed to give us. It was the heartbreaking moment of the night, all her fans started crying and waving goobye to her. It was beyond magical.
Marry The Night was the song to close the setlist and she chose 2 kids from the crowd to join her on stage. The people's reaction to it was completely unbelievable, they all started screaming and sharing their love with the 2 lucky children.
When she finally said goodbye and disappeard from the stage it was kind of awkward because people tought this time that she will come back on stage again (just like it happend with The Edge Of Glory) and it took them 2 minutes to realise that the show was this time, for real, over. Only when her crew came on stage and started demolishing it the crowd started clapping and screaming as a thank you to Lady Gaga's show. That was like 2 minutes after she left the stage, because when she left nobody started clapping or screaming because they tought that the show isn't over yet. It was awkard, but funny that only after 2 minutes they realised it and started clapping and screaming.
THIS WAS IT. IT WAS THE ULTIMATE SHOW.
The crowd and the whole atmosphere was magical, the public was very active and intro it, she killed it on stage and gave us one of the best performanced my country has ever seen. When she asked the crowd if they're having a good time and if they want her to come back, everyone shouted yes and she loved it. I don't know if there are any words left to describe how magical and how epic that night was. It was definitely the kind of performance that goes down in history. If Gaga didn't put on a great show in Romania, 3 days ago, then nobody ever will.
It was a dream come true for so many people and as I said, everything we got trough just to see her, it was totally deserved.
If I would have to give a grade to the show, I couldn't because the grade would exceed everything.
Here is a LEGENDARY picture from the show ( ) :

I'm so happy for you and everybody who shared the show of the year with you Dr. Cake.
Better yet to hear that she converted the skeptics with this show.
That ****ing Starlight picture in the middle of the night, though.

A lot of my friends also attended Shakira's and Madonna's concerts and they really didn't know what to except from Gaga show and when I asked them yesterday how was the show they were completely speechless. They said: ''Oh, I stanned for Shakira and I tought she's the best and had the best show, but what I saw that night at Lady Gaga's concert is something completely out of this league. I didn't know someone could ever put on such a great show.''

I was at the Born This Way Ball in Vienna yesterday, it was SO AMAZING !!!
Everybody loved it.
IOne of my favourite moments was, when she took a little girl on the stage, stood with her infront of the audience and told everybody to never give up their dreams, everything is possible, it was such an inspiring moment.
She also took a lot of people backstage, it was just AMAZING!!!
I love her so much!!

I am curious to see if Gaga revamps this tour like she did with the Monster Ball. I went to all of the Australian shows in Sydney and was in the Monster Pit for each one and I can honestly say as it is, this tour is absolute perfection.

The only reason she revamped TMB was because she had to. The BTWB is way too big to be revamped completely. She could change outfits and that's about it because the performances call for the stage to be a certain way and there's no way she's going to get rid of a million dollar castle.

I hated Starlight when she opened for the 2011 leg of TMB. So annoying.
I just want a real opening act.
