I hadn't heard anything about it though. I had no idea what it as about going in to it.



My friend told me this rumour that the woman who stabbed her 8 kids here in Australia had watched it before she murdered all of them, and I didn't believe her until

The scene where the mum pulled her tooth out - the Cairns Stabbing mother (Mersane Warina) was an ice addict and was in a drug-induced psychotic episode when she stabbed them all. And then that scene where the mum has a hallucination where she wakes up and realises she has slit her son's throat...I was like "yeah, she definitely watched it."

I didn't like the ending though. I'm not a fan of open endings but an open ending would have been PERFECT for this movie. Because:

In the big fight scene at the end, after the mum has vomited up the Babadook's spirit, and then the son is like "you can't get rid of the Babadook" I couldn't figure out if the Babadook was real or not. Part of me thought it was, and then another part of me thought that the mum was insane, and she'd had a mental breakdown because of everything that had happened - her husband dying, having no friends, no sex, no love, struggling financially, having a weird kid who seemed like he had Asperger's and still slept in her bed. I thought she had developed severe schizophrenia and the voices were telling her to kill him.

It should have ended when the son got sucked back upstairs by the Babadook after he said "mum...I remembered one thing, you can't kill the Babadook" cause then you never know if he lives or dies, and you never find out if the Babadook kills him, or if the Babadook takes over the mothers body and she kills him, and then she realises what she's done, or if she had just gone crazy and killed him after he was paranoid about a bedroom monster.

The ending was weird...keeping him in the cupboard under the stairs like he's ****ing Harry Potter And feeding him worms

I feel like I said "the Babadook" about a thousand times just then, but every time the Babadook said "baaaa baaaa doook" I got chills. So creepy

Babadook was a mess. The only gut-wrenching scene was the one where the mother killed the dog .

Mess, really? I honestly wasn't spooked out at all watching it.
The Conjuring, in my opinion, is still the best horror movie of the past few years (and it wasn't even THAT good)

Has anyone on here heard of The Descent & The Descent: Part 2? They're UK made films & I'm not too sure if they got a release anywhere else. They were released in 2006 & 2009, i think.

Anyway, I decided to watch them with my friend the other night for the first time. The first one is brilliant and genuinely scary. It makes you feel uneasy due to the feeling of claustrophobia and the fact we can't really see what is stalking them in the caves. But the second one was terrible. it is a shameful sequel that is literally just there to make money. The plot makes no sense and they take away the scare factor from the first one due to the fact they overemphasise on the creatures. It's so bad. But I really recommend the first one for people who haven't seen it before.

Am I the only one who was sleepy watching the babadook. I think I did fall asleep at one point but cant really remember much from the second half to the end. I guess I need to re watch it.

I recommend all horror fans to watch Sinister. That movie is really, really creepy. The score alone makes my skin crawl. That long haired bad guy is so freaky as well. The scene with Ethan Hawke looking away from his laptop with the image of that long haired guy on screen is so scary, its a small moment but so effective.
