Being 1 day late is nothing compared to having to wait 9 months for the previous countdown.
I usually don't go off into a full fledged conversation at the beginning of my countdown but this is an exception to the rule. I have to at least spend a minute talking about the Grammy's from last night.
I actually enjoyed a few of the performances (and hated a few more but that is to be expected). I actually found Lady Gaga somewhat entertaining. I'm not exactly becoming a Lady Gaga stan anytime soon but I thought her performance alone and with Elton John was quite good. I liked Green Day performing with the cast of their musical. It is an interesting take on "21 Guns." I like the original more but it was nice to not hear the same exact performance of "21 Guns" that I've seen at least 100 times already. I hate that Pink song but enjoyed the whole high flying performance. Bon Jovi was typical Bon Jovi. Nothing I loved and nothing I hated. Taylor Swift was awful but she did deserve album of the year.
However, there was only 1 performance that is really still in my head today and surprisingly, that is Beyonce (luckily no Beyonce stans come in here so they will never see that). I really enjoyed the performance of "If I Were a Boy/"You Oughta Know". Honestly, I hated "If I Were a Boy" before last night. I actually thought Beyonce was the star of the show performance-wise last night (but you will never see me go into the Grammy thread and admit that).
Also it is good to see Green Day get some appreciation for the very underrated "21st Century Breakdown".
Now onto the countdown...
10. Crash Kings- "Mountain Man" (DEBUT)
9. Silversun Pickups- "The Royal We" (2nd week / = / peak 9)
