The version selling for the regular $1.29 is #5 and has been rising all week as well so it's not only about the price.

this is actually a smart strategy .. if def jam wants a new peak so be it .. they're doing what they have to do .. all the others gurls' labels can be content with a top 3 peak if they want to that's on them .. but def jam isn't and I don't blame them ..

I dont see anything wrong with Rihanna reducing her price... just like Taylor reducing her album to $4.99 the other week, any boost it gets is alright as long as it makes it easier for fans to actually afford their music.

Its stupid to hate on that and I remember when Gaga was releasing Fame Monster and said she wanted it to be more affordable to fans as a reason for it being an EP and people were calling that cheating too just because it was cheaper... its dumb logic to even think any of this is cheating because reducing the price doesnt force people to buy it if they already didnt like the song in the first place....

Billboard measures MOST DOWNLOADED SONGS. Having a #1 on Billboard is about having the song that most people want to hear. That's what the chart represents. Whether a song is 1.29 or 99 cents doesn't matter.

Y'all forget that other songs such as Ke$ha's "Tik ToK" was priced at 99 cents, Mariah and other chart legends have used similar strageties for obtaining their excessive amount of #1's, and it's not like Rihanna's OG wouldn't have likely gotten it anyway considering how close it's gotten several times. The only reason people are mad is because it's Rihanna and she's gonna get her NINTH number one now. Everything is perfectly legit with what's going on.

Who said there were desperate? If you read the facebook update her record label post there was no desperation in the tone of the message. When artist have a download weekend or day its for their fans to buy it again for their friends/family as a gift and for those who didnt get it before to get it as a cheaper price. i dont see nothing wrong. Its just "promotion". Its not like the song wasnt a hit and they are willing to do anything for it to sell.
