No. It's not always black and white.
Say a couple is picking a house to move to. Under your scenario, only the man has to like the house. Causing the woman to submit. Under my scenario they both find a house they like.
No one is submitting, because they both are happy with the decision. They made the decision together.

The italics is bad too. It's suggesting that all black people are on entitlement and welfare and that somehow ruins them more.

Do you know racism even means?
Quote:
the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.
"theories of racism"
prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

Yes because he was in the tranches with them. HE WAS THERE Poor whites had it almost as bad as blacks in those days. From his perspective, from BEING there, with people he worked with He didnt see anything. Thats not racism.
And Welfare is one of the worst things to happen to inner city neighborhoods.

Do I have to post videos/pics of blacks protesting?

Do you know what racism is? What minority are you a part of? Because you sound like a typical white Republican.
Ignorance is racism though. Him not "seeing" a problem is him ignoring it or thinking their segregation is okay. He may not have had a TV, but how the hell can he say he was shut off to society? No newspapers? It's literally impossible for him not to know about segregation. Every town down south had "whites only" signs EVERYWHERE. That's like saying you didn't know about 9-11.

So my struggles and hardships are suddenly less because I don't comprise your minority?
You have a right to discuss your problems. But when a lot of it is trash talking people who don't agree with you (ie "when is javan going to come out of the closet" etc) THAT is below the belt bitching.

I guess that depends on thousands of factors. Moving to a new location isn't always the best for either party. The thing about a couple, is that they should care about what is best for both of them and the whole family.

Right. Someone still has to submit tho. Why they do it wasn't my point, it's the fact that they do.

Now, you're taking my words out of context. I never said your hardships were less than of mine. I merely said you don't seem to understand being gay, because you're straight.
Only a select few have said statements like, and those are defensive mechanism. It makes sense for a minority that feels threaten (that for every right and reason) to say comments like that, however inappropriate.
What about the users on the other side that has used the words "queer" you ignored those.

No I didn't. I said a general statement that, for lack of a better word, bitching gets a conversation nowhere. That accounts for both sides.

That is actually not stereotyping. Are you not republican? Your statements fit well within the republican platform and ideology, so it is completely justifiable to say you sound like a republican.

Perhaps that was what you were trying to convey, but that is not how it came off. You only a person on one side.

now this is racism.
And to answer your question, No, I'm very black and I can think for myself without having to align to a "party".
And even if I was white what I said would still stand because first hand experience>historical opinion, regardless of color.

I said:

Poor whites didnt wholly enjoy the benefits of being white in those times. They were segregated as well and seen as garbage. Just slightly better garbage.
The black persons he was around, who he worked in fields with, didnt complain about discrimination. Thats what he was round, that's who he worked with. Was generally true? Of course not. But that's what he experienced, and that all you really have.
You, 40 years years later, looking back on the Civil rights era and what we know about it in general you would come to the conclusion that it's racist. But really it isnt because that's what he experienced. It's not that hard to understand.

This thread reeks of ignorance.
I'm glad to see there are a lot of people here who truly know what is up.

Right. What about how much people where studied? And where/how does it say that they adjusted the factors in the document/pdf you sent me? I CTRL+F "when all things are equal" and no results showed
Ok. Maybe you're right. But the problem is. You're looking at this from a gay extremely liberal pc "equal for all" perspective. I am looking at this from a realistic, straight males perspective, who wants a wife and kids. And that woman is going to expect me to be the "man of the house" and expect me to take care of her, that's how it's always been and I don't think it's ever going to change. Which is why a father is important in most instances and my situation in particular because I think I deserve to the opportunity to have witnessed that kind of relationship dynamic and learn form it. You say gender roles like it's a bad thing, I don't think it's a bad thing. There's no harm in saying that we are not the same. Male, female we are made differently biologically, and that is what has shaped society/gender norms. And I believe that's simply how God intended it.
As I said, I'm seeing this from a straight males perspective. I believe in gender equality to an extent but that doesn't mean I'm going to allow a woman to command a relationship/the house. Idc if that sounds sexist. That's not happening, it's not realistic. People should stick to their roles.
