Portland summer is great, except for the 2 weeks in August when it hits the 90s. I'll keep Portland's July-uary and y'all can have the sun.

Does Portland only get like 2 months of summer, and the rest is cool, gray and rainny? I miss the west coast. All that rain made is soo green and pretty year round.

More like 2 weeks. The beginning to middle of August is the only hot time of the year. September-May is on and off cold/cool, and June, July, and the rest of August is dry but still not hot.

Keep in mind I live so close to the river, so it's cooler for us anyway. But yes, we have the freshest area. The pearl district is always beautiful naturally

Nope, no sales tax. And when I go to Vancouver WA I don't have to pay it at large chain stores with my Oregon ID. Plus we don't have to pump our own gas. We get to be lazy and waited on

You're only allowed to pump if it's diesel, and you have a commercial drivers license. If not, touching the pump is a crime and they WILL call the police on you.

You don't know how many times I've driven through Washington, stopped for gas, and waited for a good 5 minutes for someone to help me. It always takes me so long to realize no one's gonna come around and do it for me.

I don't know anywhere else that pumps gas for you. In some places here, you have to pay first.

I'm pretty sure we're the only place in at least the US and Canada. I don't know what we'll do if that ever changes. Or if God forbid we ever get sales tax

Here in Alberta we only have 5% GST (General Sales Tax). Currently were the only Canadian province to not have a PST. (Provinincal Sales Tax).

In BC, they have a 12% HST (Harmonized Sales Tax, which is the GST and PST combined), which the gov't brought in without public support, and caused a huge uproar. The premier even resigned over it, and they had referendum to get rid of it.
