I think she can make it; there were 110 dates planned but she's already added quite a few to announced legs, and I'm guessing the American legs will be huge and have a few extensions as well. I see the tour ending up at about 150 dates, which is enough for $400 million. Of course there's a new album during this cycle, which will change the game. If it's good, the tour will be more successful, and she might even add extra legs in places she's already done if the new album is successful enough!
We'll see how it goes.

You didn't say that, though. You said the main reason is because of marketing and that's just not true.
To equate most of Gaga's touring success to marketing makes no sense. Yes, marketing helps, but only if she is in demand. Just because someone sees an ad for the show, doesn't mean they will go out and fork over $100 to see it. You saw how much marketing went into "Marry The Night" and, well... Marketing =/= success. Marketing obviously helps because it gets the word out, but if you are not in demand and if people don't want to see you, it doesn't matter how much money you spend on marketing. No other popstar would be able to pull the numbers Gaga does because if they could, they would, but there isn't enough demand for them.

I guess Gaga's team just has the money to spend. I guess we'll also see the effects of it when it comes to the U.S.
Truthfully though, many pop acts don't do full on global world tours like Gaga does within their first four years of their career. Gaga should be commended but I don't like tooting her horn too much because then I'll seem over confident/arrogant.

Yes, well, they wouldn't put forth the marketing dollars if they weren't confident in the returns that they would draw in.
It's why Katy and Rihanna's labels put so much into their singles.. They're largely confident in the returns that they get when their hits smash on global charts. Naturally, with hits, there are misses as well. You can't be successful 100% of the time.

While we can? The bitch has already expanded her thrown at the top to three full sized castles, complete with a tennis court. She isn't going anywhere, anytime soon.

I get the math and she's also having some extraordinarily successful shows like the Japanese ones and there'll be more to come.
If the new album does great things for her in Asia and Oceania again, she should add a second leg with the new songs.

Basically, I'd say it's a combination of star power and marketing. They go hand in hand. Yes, Gaga is a huge star in her own right, but it's not really fair to ignore the importance of the promoters.

Sorry, I did say that it was the main thing. Poor word choice on my part though.

I totally did miss that part! My bad. :P They all matter, but if there wasn't massive demand, none of the things we mentioned would matter.

I'm just being a liiittttle cautious.
I mean, just a few years ago, nobody would've expected some Sci-Fi Disco Hooker to come snatch everyone's wigs and the pop crown, and look what happened.

I think Lady Gaga is once in a generation star though, like the other two out of the first three women in your sig. I honestly can't see her fading into obscurity, especially with all that she has done. It's okay to be cautious though.
