I'm not a fan of the song to be honest. I think this song was created originally with just Shakira, and it seemed like there was an opportunity for her to work with Rihanna, and they didn't want to create a whole new song for the two so Shakira just added her to Can't Remember to Forget You.

If I remember correctly, the song was posted months ago (I think in October) and it was originally registered under Shakira's name.

If they created a whole new song with Shakira and Rihanna in mind, I'm sure the outcome would have been holy.
