Unfortunately, the Academy doesn't supply its members with recordings of the nominated songs like they do with the Oscars, but I agree that all of her Howard Stern performances are just glorious.
I'm a maintenance/cook at Interscope records. Yesterday I was asked to bring up to the 2nd floor a tray of pasties/coffee. I heard from a few people that there was a meeting between gaga's manager (through skype) and a few other men about gaga's upcoming album.
I set my phone on record and put it into my pocket. I tried getting as close as possible to the speaker (that's why the volume starts off low and gets louder).
The song is rather tribe-ish & somewhat repetitive (could be a demo) and I heard them mention, "we can't keep doing this".
Some dialog from the audio:
Man x: "Relax" (he told me to relax bcs I was shocked when I first entered and made it seem as if I walked in without asking)
Man y: "Put it here" (the tray)
As I approached, I went to throw out a napkin which was near the speakers.
Man y: "Man, I'm in famine"
Man x: "Ok ok yeah" (He was on the phone)
Apparently this is new Gaga music from an Interscope meeting, I doubt it but who knows. Sound DJWS-ish, even though she's supposedly going for a rock direction.
I never got the love for Gypsy and I never will, it's such an annoyingly overrated song that doesn't deserve any praise, one of the worst RedOne/Gaga songs tbh
Venus, Mary Jane Holland, G.U.Y., Sexxx Dreams deserve more
At this point, I don't really care what happens. None of my ARTPOP trinity (Sexxx Dreams, Aura, Venus) got the treatment they deserved. If she wants to try and make Gypsy happen, with a nice goodbye video to end ARTPOP and artRAVE, then sure. And a Sam Smith remix could be great.
At the end of the day, I'm just ready for her to go away for a bit, let promo like H&M take over while she's gone, and write music/tour CTC.
I really don't like Sam Smith, hopefully she'll never work with him tbh
I wanted the AP era to be done this summer, I don't want anymore singles anyway
