In a way, I feel like this era in regards to success is going exactly how Katy wants.
She's stated multiple times that she didn't want this to be TD 2.0 (ie. 5 #1s) and it certainly hasn't.
I really don't think she wantsall her songs to go #1, at a point it gets overwhelming for an artist to have all their songs go #1. A lot of pressure and it can eventually damage the artist.
I'm beyond impressed and proud of Katy this era. She not only beat the rest of the competition but also established herself as a serious artist that can sell singles and albums, which I think was both her and her label's goal.
Knew this the first time I heard this filler. The Motivational, Self-Help Chanteuse at it again
I'm actually here for this. With this kind of song, she won't have to pull crazy Katy and just be beautiful and inspiring in the mv.
I went to a museum today and they had a section where you could play vinyls they had laid out... Someone was playing PRISM and This Moment was the track of choice.
I also checked it out and PRISM was put in the "Kid's Pick" Section.
They dueted on everything
Katy's TOY, Roar, Firework, TD
Kacey's Merry Go Round, Step Off, Follow Your Arrow
And 2 covers, one Dolly Parton and one Bonnie Raitt

I have no idea what's going on anymore since I've stopped checking on this thread due to the off topic, but Birthday did fine, that is assuming it's really over. Having a Top 20 fourth single is NOT something to be sad about, especially after it was overshadowed by such a force like Dark Horse. It didn't underperform because people didn't like the song, they were just pre-occupied with something better.
Thinking about the next step, "Legendary Lovers" and "This Is How We Do" would be the next best single choices. TIHWD if she still wants that Song of the Summer, and Legendary Lovers if she's looking for a hit that will boost her image and give her a bit more credibility as an artist. "Walking On Air" is a cute throwback track, but I just don't see is doing well, especially as it already had the same exposure as DH did and while DH took off, WoA did not. "This Moment" would be a lovely track to close the era with, and while I initially didn't favour it, it grew on me to be one of my favourite tracks in the latter half of PRISM. It's a very nice song.
